About Azalea Sands Golf Club
Azalea Sands Golf Club, opened in 1972 and designed by Gene Hamm, is a classic golf course in North Myrtle Beach that caters to players of all skill levels. It features a decent course layout with challenging water hazards, clearly marked on the GPS in carts. Recent upgrades have greatly improved the course and clubhouse, and many golfers have noted the course is kept in nice clean shape. While some areas, like hole #10, may have temporary issues, golfers appreciate the fast greens, especially during winter. The pace of play can be slow at times, but the staff is friendly, making for a pleasant golfing experience. Reviewers highlight the good food and friendly people at the nice clubhouse. Azalea Sands offers a pure golf experience without homes adjacent to the course, making it a hidden gem for those looking to play golf in Myrtle Beach. Overall, it is considered one of the best golf values in the region, with no tee time issues and a well-maintained course.
Course is in great shape but we drew the short straw and got put behind some non golfers. 5 1/2 round was long but at least we got paired with some great guys from Calabash. Ranger at 10 needs to figure out if you're backed up all day not to tell us we're behind. We waited on every shot. Great course but overplayed.
