PLEASE READ My dog is 7 years old and never been to a groomer. She has had a really bad experience with a vet in the past that left her a scared and anxious dog when it comes to being handled by other people. I came into this appointment just as anxious as she was. I was scared about how she would react, if we should have muzzled her just in case, if she would be too difficult to handle. The vet she had the bad experience with had DEMANDED she be muzzled and heavily medicated, and although all the vet visits in the years after had gone well and they had completely dismissed that persons evaluation of my dog, I still held onto that fear of how she might act when I’m not around. Scenthound reassured me that unless I wanted to bring her in muzzled for my own peace of mind, that they had their own if needed and were fine with her coming in without it. I booked as much as I could (she needed it!) and told them “just do what you can and we’ll go from there”. 20 minutes after I dropped her off they called me. I thought “oh boy, they’re gonna tell me I need to come get her”. They were calling to let me know that her skin had seemed to react to the deshedding treatment so they rinsed it off but wanted me to be aware. I reassured them that I had forgotten to mention that she just gets like that, turns red as a tomato when she gets worked up, but that it was totally fine if they skipped it for now. Another 20 or so minutes later they sent me the picture of her in the bath and I could have cried from relief. But I thought, “ear cleaning? Teeth cleaning? Nail cutting and grinding? No way she’ll do as well for those”. They text me to let me know she’s all done and I go to pick her up. First thing they tell me, with a wide smile, was that she did so well and didn’t need a muzzle at all. I really did cry that time. Not only did they go back and redo the deshedding treatment after I had told them her skin was fine, but they were able to do ALL of the services without having to muzzle her and she came out looking bright and happy and BEAUTIFUL 🤩 this may have been the first ever grooming experience I’ve done but they will have my business as long as I live. They were incredible with communication, clearly love dogs with every interaction I saw between my own dog and others, and were so thorough and honest with their evaluation of her. I can’t thank them enough, I WILL be bringing her back, and I will tell everyone I know they need to go here ♥️

My Dog had her first visit at scenthound today the lady at the front desk was awesome and very informative about everything. They sent me a picture of my dog in the bath saying how she was doing and when she would be ready. I set up to have a monthly service with them. They even have an app and you can see all they did at the visit and how they do like a check up and a score of the overall skin and stuff . They were awesome they were great and My dog looked and smelled great as well.
