The office manager doesn’t return phone calls and doesn’t care. This office often incorrectly codes bills which costs patients hundreds or more dollars. Every time I’ve gotten a bill I’ve called to debate it and I’ve been right about being over charged. In doing so they maliciously overcharge patients and I can’t imagine how many people blindly pay these inaccuracies. The office manager has been made aware before of this and allows for it to continue. Please contest your bills and be very aware of what your insurance covers and doesn’t cover as this office will take advantage of your lack of knowledge if at all possible. When I started going to this office I began seeing Dr Kelli Hudon who is/was absolutely amazing. She was kind, listened and very knowledgeable. Last year she left for another practice and I regret not getting transferred with her to her new practice which is still within the Lexington Medical Family. I was scheduled with Eva Varquoa and likewise for my husband. Eva didn’t review either one of our charts prior to our appointments so it was like starting all over. It’s also noted on our accounts that are insurance does NOT cover 2x a year appointments. She’s making us re-establish ourselves as new patients under her while not caring about why/how for any previous diagnoses, ordered extra testing with no explanation of results, and honestly I felt like she thought I was a liar when I said I was not currently taking a vitamin that is noted on my chart. Instead, I am being required to go back and do another blood panel as a result of her doubts. And while these things are annoying to deal with what is most problematic here Is the fact that one of my medication’s requires a pre-authorization written into the mail order prescription company and order for my insurance to cover the medication. The medication is Synthroid and many women are allergic to it or have bad reactions. In my case I loose clumps of hair leaving me with bald spots, have heart palpitations, feel like my heart is about to explode out of my chest, and am unable to sleep at night due to waking up feeling like I am panicked and going to have a heart attack. Dr. Hudon had no problem writing this letter for me With 100% accuracy the very first time she did it. This is noted on my chart! Had Dr Varquoa made an effort to review my chart she would have known this and/or probably could have accessed the prior pre-authorization letter. I even told the nurse exactly what my reaction is to the generic medication. The nurse who works under Dr Varquoa is the same nurse that worked under Dr Hudon for several years. When my prescriptions were filled I did not expect to have to get a new pre-authorization letter for a medication I’ve been taking for years, however, when it didn’t automatically refill the mail order prescription company told me they would reach out to doctors office. Well, come to find out this doctor’s office has a policy which entails not responding to a pharmacy should they have a question or issue with a prescription. Initially, the issue was that they couldn’t read the writing on the prescription. This office needs a 24 to 48 hour turnaround time to resend the prescription. Due to this office’s negligence and terrible policies I am running out of medication twice now and having great difficulty getting that refilled and covered through my insurance. Otherwise I have to pay out-of-pocket and it’s very expensive. Going to the doctor shouldn’t be a pain in the ass. It’s a waste of everyone’s time on all ends. I don’t even know why it’s so hard for people to just do their job right the first time. If you’re thinking about going to this office, I would think twice and probably find a different one. No one explained to me that if I took the appointment with Dr Varquoa that I would then have to reestablish myself as a new patient with Dr. Hudon if I transferred later which is going to be an additional cost to me through my insurance to establish as a new patient at a new practice.

Its pretty sad and pathetic that you show up 2 mins late and instead of the lady saying oh your 2 mins past your appointment let me see what i can doshe says oh im sorry your late. Well guess what things happen on the road and in life and if this how you treat your patients then ill be finding a doctor's office that cares a little more than that. Just plain out pathetic.

My husband and I see Michelle. She takes her time with you and cares. She's knowledgeable on current and new medical info. My husband got walking pneumonia. He's 61 and smokes. Our family was very concerned. He had no problem going in to see her. We knew he was in good hands.

Dr.Shalkham has always been there for myself and my husband. He doesn't hesitate to make sure we get the best care possible. Office staff are pleasant. Would not trust any other Dr with our medical care. Dr Shalkham goes far beyond to make sure he's covered absolutely everything. He also listens to us and actually hears us. He makes us feel like he really cares about us and our health.
