“This place rocks! I was waiting years ago for someone to open a dog wash and as soon as they opened, I brought my pup in and haven't gone anywhere else since!

We use the self-wash tubs because my medium/large mutt is now very senior and very anxious about being handled, so it's really convenient! No matter what time I come in, even if they're very busy, I never have to wait. The tubs and dryers are plentiful and my dog loves the staff even though she does not love baths. They're all so welcoming and kind, even though I often come in right before last call after work (sorry, y'all... I try to go as fast as I can!).

I usually let them do her claws with the Dremel tool too. Because she has arthritis and has trouble standing still, they always let me help hold her while she's on the table. Sometimes they even shave out her paw pads since she has a lot of trouble getting traction. I truly appreciate how much they accommodate us with her mobility issues!

I love the loyalty card and free wash too, and that the deal hasn't changed since they opened. They always honor the punch card.

They even went above and beyond one time a few years back when I had a senior pup only for her golden years and brought her in for her final bath. I mentioned briefly to them that I just wanted her clean for people to snuggle her before we said goodbye, then paid and washed my two pups. A while later after I'd left, I figured out they must have only charged me for my younger (now very senior) dog and not the older one. I never remembered to thank them for that, but want to thank them here! It was a really sweet gesture.

Although Island Dog a little bit pricier than other self-washes I've been to in other states, it is the only one I'm aware of in West Ashley and still my favorite place to go for self-washes. I'm pretty sure they discount the nail trim when you do self-wash too because it always costs less than I expect.

Even if it isn't the only dog wash in town, I'd still choose Island Dog. Belle Pepper and I appreciate your lovely business and thank you for welcoming us all these years!“
