Our air conditioning went out around 530 pm. Thermostats were offline. Called the company we have a service contract with and waited two hours for a call back with no response. Called Charleston Electric and within 5 minutes I had the name of a technician and an estimated time of arrival. Stew arrived and fixed the problem. We already have a service contract for our generator and are now switching our hvac service contract to Charleston Electric. Always excellent service. Do not call this company if you have an emergency electrical problem or pay the $500 fee just for them to come out. Please call someone else. I spent all this money for them to come out and tell me that my HVAC had been fried and a few other things. I was trying to tell them about my thermostat reading error messages and had even sent them three photos of my thermostat and the error messages that it was receiving including one that said it was getting low voltage. The technician said he was sorry but he told me that my HVAC was fried and I needed to call the HVAC company. He repaired a cfgi outlet and told me my garage door motor was also fried. I asked him to show me how he knew those things were fried. He showed me that the HVAC was receiving the proper voltage. After he left I soon realized that he had not assessed the thermostat. I called to ask if it could possibly be the thermostat that had been fried because of the data on it and what he had registered at the hvac. They sent me a text back saying they had relayed the information to the tech and he had said again just to call the HVAC company. In the meantime I had switched out the thermostat and my HVAC started working again. I would not have had AC all holiday weekend and I have renters. I also would have wasted a lot of money trying to get emergency HVAC out. I have tried to communicate with them and get them to follow up with me or come back out to ensure that I wired the thermostat correctly. I told them I was concerned about wires that maybe exposed or damaged behind the thermostat and have heard nothing. I have messaged them saying that I thought that this was a pretty big mess and for them to get back to me. Nothing. I have had to resort to filing a claim with Google because they have some Google guarantee checkmark by their name. This has been so upsetting because they definitely do not go above and beyond and they definitely missed things in this circumstance and will not make it right. They are not looking out for you as a customer and not willing to help when they miss something.
We had a Generac installed by Charleston Electric. Highly recommend!! Wonderful experience from beginning to the end. Communication. Scheduling, punctuality and price.
