This month (May, 2025) I had the Vortechs HVAC company located in Wakefield RI service my 21-year-old home AC unit. Just like last year, Hunter was the tech. He showed up on time and did a thorough maintenance on the unit. He was polite and courteous and extremely knowledgeable about all the questions I had. He gave the unit a thumbs up, and I went back to my breakfast, confident in a job well done. The total cost was very reasonable. These days you never know what kind of service you're going to get after you make an appointment, but I'm happy to say that this company delivers the best. I just booked my annual AC maintenance for next year (2026). I highly recommend Vortechs for all things HVAC.

I recently had the pleasure of engaging with Vortechs HVAC Inc. whose representative Hunter provided outstanding service and valuable expertise. He demonstrated a thorough understanding of the home’s heating system’s operations, and explained it, ensuring that I was well-informed about every aspect.
I trust Vortechs to keep the system well-maintained and operating at peak levels.
One of the standout features of the service was the clarity with which Hunter described the system operations, his recommendations and the reasons for each. His ability to break down complex heating system processes into understandable terms was truly useful to me.
This helped me understand the needs of the system and enabled me to make sensible decisions about repair and upgrades.

We had AJ come out and give us a quote for a heat pump. He did a great job. Unfortunately the timing didn’t work since they couldn’t do the job for a few months and we had a newborn baby and our AC was broken. AJ was very understanding, but Wendy wasn’t. Fast forward a few years, we needed a new oil boiler and second AC unit, and after scheduling an appointment to have AJ come out, we got a call back from Wendy saying we’re on the “no service list” and canceled the appointment because their first quote was a lot of work and they don’t want to give us another quote to have us not purchase. Careful working with these folks. AJ is smart and good at what he does, but the team expects you to purchase if they provided a quote.

Having a company fabricate a story that I answered/ hung up and didn’t return calls or emails is so far from the truth and truly gross. It’s important to me that any business I work with is honest and trustworthy so if things don’t go as planned we can work through it.

So to have AJ’s say something to the effect of “our schedule is pretty booked out so I totally understand if you need to go a different direction” in the context of an 8-12 week lead time and our AC being broken sounds honest and understanding which built trust. Then to have the company act completely different is really disappointing. It shows that words and actions are not the same. To me it also shows a lack of understanding and empathy, poor notes about the conversations and reasoning, or even worse the entitlement of getting a customers business just simply upon coming on site and building a quote.

To be clear, this recent call was because I wanted to give you a second opportunity and proactively get ahead of replacing my boiler before it broke (like the AC did) - and I said that to you in the phone.

Ironically enough, you couldn’t reciprocate so in the end I’m thankful I avoided working with an organization who is willing fabricate and accuse others to pass the blame rather than taking ownership of the reality and simplicity of the situation.

It shows what might happen if things don’t go the way you hoped. No one needs more stress in their lives so hopefully this provides someone else a perspective contrary to 5 stars so they can be prepared incase things don’t go as expected.

I had an issue with my AC. Vortechs' technician, Hunter was excellent. Very helpful, informative and told me exactly what he did to my system. He answered several of my questions and I could tell he was very knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend their service.

We truly appreciate the staff at Vortechs HVAC! From Wendy’s kindness during phone calls to AJ’s diagnostics and Dave and Rob’s service time, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We unfortunately started the project with a company that was licensed but not reputable and it was a nightmare. Vortechs came to our rescue. The employees were wonderful in rectifying what hadn’t been done correctly and got the system running the way it needed to be in a timely manner! We will not hesitate to recommend Vortechs to our family and friends and look forward to continued positive experiences with them in the future.
