I write very few reviews and only if I feel that the public can learn something. My dog " lasso" who is normally an active three year old Staffordshire developed a violent cough. Due to our vet changing her practice focus I was looking for a new vet when this happened. We visited last week and upon a cursory exam received two billing options one was for nearly 500- The other( which included meds) . Of course you want what's best but here is where it gets screwy. They took X-rays and could only say that they appeared non typical requiring a specialist to read them. So off we went with pills and told to follow up in two weeks. The vets and techncians at Gansett Animal Hospital are professional, competent, and caring with animals and their owners. They have taken excellent care of two dogs of mine over about a 15 year period of time. They are excellent with relating to dogs. Both my former dog and my current one have willingly cooperated with the vets and technicians there, running up the steps eagerly when they have gone for routine exams, and when they didn't feel well seemed to know they would be helped. I highly recommend them.

Worse Animal Hospital ever. Greedy, Rude, Unprofessional. Pet owners, keep away from Gansett Animal Hospital!! Their charges are significantly higher than other clinics available and force sell unnecessary/unwanted vaccines shots and are EXTREMELY RUDE. They gave my cat an unordered vaccine before I even realized and charged me $40 for it afterwards without telling me what is was, the price, or the effect beforehand. They even charged $7 for "medical waste." Needle disposal, they said. For references, they also charge $700+ for spaying and $1200 for a titer test while the labs that actually analyze the specimen usually charge $91-120. Imagine where the rest... read full review
