Richard gave me my 1st haircut back in Warwick in 1963. He cut my hair for all my special occasions. School photos, holidays and summers. A dear friend to me and the family through the years. This is a fantastic old-school barber with great skill. Walk-ins and appointments are both welcomed. Stepping into Van Dyke's is like stepping back into time, when man caves existed in public. This shop has an old metal cash register, antique washing stations, antique barbering devices, ads and displays galore, giving it a relaxed, old time feel. No pink counters, no dumb sexist posters. Richard, the proprietor, is soft spoken and thoughtful: if you talk, he talks. If you feel quiet, he gives you your space. He's never been rushed, but I've never waited for my cut. Women and men both will feel comfortable here. It's been twenty years since I've been this happy with my barber.
