Today was my first visit at Sky nails. I typically go to Glamour nails on route 30. But I forgot to book my appointment. I figured I’d just visit one of the local nail shops downtown. When I walked in it was not busy, I was able to be seen right away. I only needed a refill. Nail shape, simple square. It cost me $40, which is a decent price, I tipped the nail technician five dollars. My overall experience was decent. Nail tech was sort of rough, didn’t really care to take her time so it did feel rushed. But again because this wasn’t my normal nail tech I expected an abnormal experience. Today was my first visit at Sky nails. I typically go to Glamour nails on route 30. But I forgot to book my appointment. I figured I'd just visit one of the local nail shops downtown. When I walked in it was not busy, I was able to be seen right away. I only needed a refill. Nail shape, simple square. It cost me $40, which is a decent price, I tipped the nail technician five dollars. My overall experience was decent. Nail tech was sort of rough, didn't really care to take her time so it did feel rushed. But again because this wasn't my normal nail tech I expected an abnormal experience. Yet what compelled me write this review was not my experience but a woman who was a regular. She came in to get eyelash extensions done. The seat I sat in was right in front of the small cubicle that she was in with the eyelash/nail technician. I heard the customer say "can you please slow down", I heard her say this with a calm tone two times. Shortly after I heard her say "OUCH!! you just poked me with that!" She repeated to say "you just poked me in my eye with that." The eyelash/nail technician proceeded to say that the customer moved which then she made the mistake of poking her. But the customer was very deliberate and insisted that she did not move. That she was doing a "rush job" and she asked her to slow down. The customer jolts out of the cubicle space and says "I'm done I'm not coming here no more you just poke me in my eye with that twizer!" The customer goes to the store owner and lift her eyelid up to show him her eye. By this time my nails are refilled and I'm getting ready to wash my hands. All the while watching her be very upset and distressed. The eyelash/nail technician proceeded to tell her "you pay me $40 now." Customer was furious and said "I'm not giving you a dime you just deliberately poked me in my eye after I asked you to slow down when you were doing a rush job." Eyelash/nail Technician continue to say "you pay me $40 if you don't want to pay take the lashes off." At this point I was flabbergasted. Not only did she dismiss her by telling her she still needed to pay. This woman is crying and in distress and she does not care. The eyelash/nail technician then said she was going to call the cops because she said that it would be theft of services. The customer went ahead and called the cop herself. By this time I'm getting my clearcoat on my nails. The customer is outside on the phone with the cops when the same nail/eyelash technician tried to interfere with her phone call. The customer looked at the technician and said "this is against the law you cannot interfere with my call". The technician comes inside sits down and starts to do another customers nails. At this time my nails are just about done drying. And I no longer see the customer. The nail/eyelash technician is now doing someone's nails. I'm sitting waiting for my ride and I see a cop come in. The cop talks to the store owner about the incident that just occurred. The store owner proceeded to tell him that the customer got their lashes done but left without paying. Not once did he bring up the fact that his staff poked a customer in the eye or that his staff was negligent to slowing down. I'm sitting in disbelief because I am a witness to everything that just happened. The cop exits the nail salon to speak to the woman, at this point my ride was arriving. I felt compelled to say something, so before I left I walked up to the officer and informed him that "I was a witness and I can Confirm that her information was correct, I saw and heard just about everything" I don't normally go there for my nail appointment as I stated earlier, but needless to say I will never return. I hope that she gets her justice. Because that was definitely wrong. That is her eyeball and I will be upset too if someone deliberately or accidentally poked me and wanted me to pay for a service that was a poor job done. W
I haven't been to the place in a while, the service is excellent, the prices are reasonable and everything is clean and disinfected and complies with CDC standards, I recommend it 100% and I will continue using their services
