Brian and his team did a great job refinishing our steps recently. He came over to meet with us after our initial inquiry, provided a reasonable estimate for the job, and promptly added us to his schedule. His team consisted of Jose and Alex. They did a good job sealing off the space to contain the amount of dust from sanding, cleaned up well after each day, and worked closely with us to match the stain to our existing hardwood floors. Jose was also excellent at communicating the timeline around the drying process for both stain and the multiple finish poly coats. Can’t say enough good things about McKenna’s hardwood floors. Brian and his team did a fantastic job on refinishing our hardwood floors. Our ~70 year old home still has the original red oak hardwood floors. We hadn’t realized how much yellowing had occurred over the last 30 years. Brian’s estimate was spot on, and the end result exceeded our expectations. They made it clear that not all of the stains would come up. There was minimal mess. There will be dust, there will be odor, but there was much less dust than we expected. I chose Brian McKenna over two other quotes to sand and refinish the wood floors in three rooms of our 1810 building, based on his experience with historic homes and his clear commitment to doing the job right. After the third coat, a close inspection showed excellent workmanship across 100% of the floors, finished cleanly right up to the existing quarter round. The fourth and final coat is drying as I write this.
The work was completed promptly, which I also appreciated, and the care instructions and materials provided were very helpful.
