Mary Jo's Salon is treasure trove of women empowerment and house some of the best elements of this community. The women leading Mary Jo's are so kindhearted, talented, and give you so much more than just a haircut. This salon has the environment of Steel Magnolias mixed with The Barbershop, if you get my drift. The time spent here is well spent. You come in with the weight of the world on your shoulders and you leave feeling lighter in body, heart, and mind. This is what every salon should be like -- and I'm so lucky to have experienced it. We took off well over a foot of hair and beyond, and I love the way my hair looks and feels - light as air! I guarantee if you come here, you're going to love the way you feel just as much as you'll love the way you look!
I booked a 90-minute couple's massage class for my boyfriend and I for his Valentines gift. The class was very personalized--Abby did a great job of combining what we wanted to learn with her perceptions of our areas of tension. She even pulled out books to show me the muscular anatomy, so I could understand the muscles that are causing my boyfriend's headaches and how to best find them and work on them. I have some experience with reiki and she even showed me how to work reiki into the massage techniques. You can take notes or take pictures and videos with your phone so that you can bring this knowledge home, but you'll also have plenty of time to work on the techniques and build them into your memory.Abby is very intuitive and quickly picked up on our needs, and we had a very relaxing time. Massage is a great way for couples to care for each other and strengthen intimacy, I would highly recommend this class for any couple looking to destress together. Prices are super reasonable too. We'll definitely be back for another lesson sometime, and I already booked a massage for just me next week!
