We highly recommend Pawsitive K9! We reached out about our 6 year old golden doodle, Gatsby, who has some reactivity around kids and struggles with resource guarding of certain things. From the start, Bridget explained the game plan of what it would look like to work through these issues. Since she has started working with him we have been amazed by how much he has grown in his impulse control and overall behavior! He is capable of more than we could have imagined with her help. We did the 5 day camp k9 training package and are getting ready to start group classes with other dogs. Communication from Bridge is always clear with his homework, she has definitely tailored the training plan to fit his needs (e.g. bringing in her young son, who is an awesome helper, for our dog to safely work with getting comfortable with kids both at our home and the training facility), and she is responsive when we have questions between training sessions. We feel so comfortable when Gatsby is at training, as we know Bridget and the team are passionate about their work and tuned in to his specific needs. We are exciting to continue our training with Bridget and continue to see our pup grow!
I would highly recommend Pawsitive K-9 Behavior School! I have a 2 year old chocolate Labrador named Obi. My 4 year old and 75 year old mom live with me. When Obi got to be 85 lbs and slightly out of control I had to do something to make sure he could safely remain in my house. I could barely even walk him on a leash, and a few of the neighborhood dogs would make him go berserk. When the doorbell rang at my house, we would have to brace ourselves and any poor soul coming to the door! Out of desperation I contacted PK9BS and Maureen and her sister came to evaluate Obi at my house. They tailored a package for me which included a two week boarding of Obi while I went on vacation, 9 private lessons and 12 group lessons. During his stay, he was trained on an e-collar. I came home to a very well-behaved dog. I have completed my private lessons and am happy to report that Obi’s training has been a huge success. I can walk him, he goes to his place when the doorbell rings, he comes immediately when called, and doesn’t lose his mind when other dogs walk by our fenced in yard anymore. He still has a ways to go, but the best part is that Maureen trained me and I now have the tools to continue his training with confidence. I am eternally grateful for the service I received. Thank you PK9BS!
Highly recommend this school and the trainers. I got my third whippet puppy late last fall and figured out pretty quickly she was going to be quite the handful. I began researching several training schools and the variety of training options available so I could get Willow enrolled early to begin learning good habits. The trainers here were responsive to my emails and came out to do a consultation suggesting an appropriate time to start based on Willow’s brain development. We began the program and as her learning evolved we had to make adjustments. We primarily worked with Bridget but Maureen joined in as well working to pivot Willow’s training content, as I mentioned she’s been quite the challenge. She is still a work in progress at 11 months old but has come along at her own pace. I appreciate the individualized training to best set Willow up to succeed. Willow also participated in a board and train where Bridget could really hone in on good behaviors especially where she was taking advantage of me in our home environment. Bridget also shared instructional emails so I could understand the training methods and how to apply them go forward as our homework assignment. Bridget also created videos so I could watch how Willow was being trained, could see her progress and then practice together when she returned. During her lessons, Willow got exposed to other dogs, people and training techniques enabling her to learn in different ways and that is why we recommend this training school.
