The Green Tambourine

We love Green Tambourine's approach to teaching music to kids. They make a fun, safe space for kids to explore.
My kid's not a massive fan of being told what to do and her teachers have always found a way to connect with her and meet her where she is.
The environment is great. It's very welcoming and it's a good environment to learn music.
There's a lovely front room for parents that are waiting for their kids. When my kid was really young it was fine to just be in the class at the same time with her.
They're really easy to work with, including mid term scheduling changes.

It's really fun for music lovers. They also have a lot of unique fun instruments.

Our 9-yr old son had an awesome time in the Music & Art Camp last summer. He really enjoyed playing with all the different instruments. Ann is a wonderful teacher!

My children had a wonderful time at the Green Tambourine summer camp. They loved experimenting with various instruments and making music with the other children.

Everyone at the Green Tambourine has been terrific. Last winter, I enrolled in adult beginner piano lessons with the excellent Dianemarie for the Spring 2024 session. We would review previously assigned pieces before practicing new ones, and while I wasn't the greatest student (read: I didn't do a lot of practicing 😬), I learned a great deal and enjoyed the experience.

I am looking forward to rejoining them in the Fall of 2024!

We have had a great time at Green Tambourine- my then 5 year old started by attending a weekend open house, followed by a summer camp and now regular violin lessons. Ms Ann is an amazing teacher who not only teaches the kids music, but is also able to fill them with the joy that comes from learning music; the whole environment at GT is just so wonderful. They are very flexible and offer make up classes. Last year, they agreed to summer classes just so that we keep up the skills. We absolutely love Green Tambourine and encourage others to explore!

More than violin, Ms. Ann is teaching G music, rhythm, composition, harmony, intervals creating a rich learning environment and also maintain age appropriate focus and efficient learning. G loves her lessons and is reinvigorated each week in her appreciation for music and her instrument. She and her brother had so much fun learning. They look forward to their time with Ms. Ann and have shown notable growth and maturation. G feels able to share and ask questions. Ms. Ann takes the time to hear and understand how things are going at home and makes useful suggestions gently supporting G in ways that G can receive it. Her joyful and positive encouragement makes for such a wonderful environment for learning. She is flexible and inviting of G's participation in how and what she learns, sensitive to the style and temperament of each child. Both G and M love playing the games Ms. Ann creates for learning music theory and ear training. It has been so exciting hearing enjoyable tunes start to be peoduced by our little one. Thanks Ms. Ann!

My three children studied at Green Tambourine for many years, and I cannot imagine a more loving, nurturing, and age-appropriate instructions. The concerts where Green Tambourine showcase students are enjoyable for all. Both of my older children became skilled musicians, and, more importantly, still enjoy playing with no encouragement on my part. Their reviews are below. Lovely community based music school owned by local family. Great approach to teaching kids: lots of games and flexibility. Very welcoming space.

We love The Green Tambourine! Our children are learning to play instruments in a nurturing and fun environment. I really appreciate how the teachers adapt the lessons to the children's interests and favorite songs.
