The studio is also very affordable, with an unlimited monthly group lesson pass that allows students to attend as many classes as they want. The instructional level at Estilo is fantastic, from beginner to advanced, and the energy and vibe is infectious as soon as you walk through the door. The instructors, such as Michael, make it easy and fun to learn and practice, even for those who are used to different dance styles like Cumbias.
Highly recommend for building a strong salsa/bachata foundation and learning how to learn dance — an underrated skill in itself. Having attended various workshops and classes, I can say Mike the owner is genuinely gifted at teaching. He’s a master dancer, but his real superpower is pedagogy.
Too many teachers chase complexity — flashy patterns and tricks — without breaking them into transferable concepts. Mike does the opposite: he teaches fundamentals in a modular way that makes it easier to progress, see patterns, add complexity, and find your own creativity along the way. Definitely best place in Philly to start your journey in the dance community. If you’re looking for a place to start dancing salsa and bachata this is the place, teachers are knowledgeable and patient, and students are very welcoming and supportive.
