I didn’t have a bad experience here and the spa is very nice- I just wished that for the price point it was a better experience. I understand it is a hotel spa and it is the W, which means the services are going to be pricer than average. However, I didn’t receive the level of attentiveness or service you would expect for an almost 300 dollar massage. I sat in the waiting room for a good amount of time before anyone addressed me. The massage was okay. The pool, which is part of the reason why I booked, was closed for an event and they didn’t let me know prior to showing up. My experience at the AWAY Spa was lovely, however, I’m unsure if I’d revisit. You pay for the experience and ambience of the spa, which I thought was mostly worth it. The upsides of my experience included the amenities, such as the comfy robe & slippers, a ginger shot upon arrival, and access to the heated pool. Nicole, my masseuse, was also beyond professional and so wonderful. However, I’ve definitely had better & more affordable messages elsewhere. My time at The Away Spa in Philly was subpar to say the least. Granted, I did come a bit late. But that doesn't excuse the fact that I didn't get everything I was suppose to get in my birthday spa package. I was suppose to get the hot stones & didn't get them. Also, the spa offers razors & shower caps in the changing rooms. I took some. The messed up teeth lady at the reception desk took the items out of my personal bag. If you guys are charging people $200+ for a spa package, then I don't see a problem with letting people take some stuff home. You should have items like that stocked anyways. Terrible. Won't be going back here
