About Kaigan Kai Dojo
Kaigan Kai Kaigoshin-ryu Aikibudo is a school that teaches the martial art of jujutsu, which was developed by O sensei Morihei Ueshiba prior to World War II and served as the precursor to modern-day Aikido. This tradition was brought to the West by various Japanese Sensei and was passed down to the lead instructor, Aaron Nowell Renshi, who is a 6th dan. The school is an excellent place for learning practical self-defense techniques that can be applied in real-world situations. The classes are not only physically challenging but also mentally invigorating. Sensei Nowell is a patient instructor who can identify students' weak points and helps them improve. The environment at Kaigan Kai is positive and supportive, making it ideal for those willing to put in the effort. A 5-week self-defense class is offered, and students leave feeling more confident and eager to continue their training. Children also benefit from training under Aaron, who communicates with them effectively and treats them with respect. The other participants are welcoming and helpful, making it an excellent choice for anyone interested in learning jujutsu.
Sensei Aaron is amazing! My son Bennett has been doing jiu-jitsu for about four months now, and he absolutely loves it. Sensei Aaron has been incredibly helpful and supportive, and it’s been great to see how much confidence and skill Bennett has gained in such a short time. The entire team at the gym is welcoming and encouraging. It’s a great environment for people to learn, grow, and have fun. I highly recommend Kaigian Kai DoJo to anyone considering jiu-jitsu!
Very practical and real world oriented, with a wealth of knowledge and experience.
I have been practicing martial arts for over 20 years. I have learned alot from Sensei Aaron and bring my own students to train with him. His knowledge is invaluable. If you are looking for an exceptional opportunity to learn self defense, this is the school for you. Highly recommended!
