I went to Dr. Wezorek my visit last year, and she was very kind and I really liked her. This time I visited Dr. Smay, and he was very short with me, unkind, and gave me eye drops without my consent. He did not explain what he was doing before he did it, so I did not have time to tell him that I have severe reactions to eye drops. I was grateful for the office staff who got me water and had me lay down on the couch. He told me the reaction is all in my head which, yes, I am aware, but he should have told me he was about to put eye drops in, and not dismissed my reaction. He also put something very close to my eye without warning, so I flinched and apologized, and he stated that he couldn't do it if I wouldn't sit still for it, and did not try again. I will still come back to this MyEyeDr. location, but I will NEVER see Dr. Smay again. I would much rather wait an entire extra 6 months to be seen then ever be treated by that man again.

I had a pretty nice experience it was my first eye exam and everyone was very kind and helpful. Dr Smay was quick and efficient. That being said he definitely wasn't the most welcoming, but he helped me and I got what I needed! I'd recommend

I had an appointment here yesterday for the first time as my insurance no longer takes my old eye doctor at Walmart (who was really amazing).
My experience was terrible.
First, the doctor (an old man) was very rude and hardly said a word to me. He put dialating drops in my eyes without my consent (I had a bunch of errands to run afterwards and couldn't do them due to not being able to read b/c of the drops).
But worst of all, when he was refining my prescription, I kept saying the letters were still really blurry and I could barely make them out, but he just said I was done! He only asked me one question to refine my right eye's prescription and two for my left eye. He never checked out the new prescription would work on both eyes together or even acknowledged I said the letters were still blurry.
He just shuffled me out with a new 'prescription' that I don't want to fill since I don't think it's going to be any good considering everything was fuzzier through the new lenses than my old glasses.
So I wasted my yearly eye exam for a prescription I can't use and now I have to pay out of pocket to go back to my old doctor at Walmart (who listens and spends time refinining my prescription). As someone on a limited income, this place is a total scam to get money and give bad prescriptions without caring about patients or their wellbeing at all.
I'm never going back and I wouldn't trust them with eye care.

dr is rude, short, and miserable. tech tried getting $ from me for tests my insurance covers get attitude when you ask for copy of your prescription to buy glasses elsewhere even though they have you sign a contract acknowledging your receipt of paper prescription

The staff at the desk are kind and understanding but Dr. Smay has really become rude, I felt so stressed bc of how I was treated at my appointment and I'm worried about my script being wrong bc it felt like he didn't really care and didn't do as much tests as usual. Now Dr. Jill is amazing and kind, I've had no problems with her but unfortunately she's usually pretty booked up. I hate to leave a review like this especially since I love the receptionists and the ones that help me with my glasses/prescriptions and I've been going since I was little but I felt it was needed after how both my grandma and I was treated today at our appointments by the doctor and his assistant

Trisha is probably the best Worker you’ve ever had. She’s been there for so long and has so much Knowledge. She’s always so kind and patient with my children. She’s literally the only reason why I go there. Congratulations for having such a phenomenal work

this place is amazing they do amazing work very kind very helpful and very caring you don't get that. but this eye store does care you feel special would go in and you feel special when you go out and the woman worked with me her name was Trisha she is so sweet very kind very respectful and very very easy to talk to it's like talking to an old friend. My eye doctor's in New Kensington is an amazing place they don't rush you. They are very interested in helpful in what you want and what you need and that is very important to me she would amazing and thank you so much sweetheart God bless you 🙏🤗😄

Have been coming here for more than a few years. As a private practice this was a great place. After joining My eye Dr things went bad, and seemingly quickly. My kids had an appointment and the office called the night before to explain there were changes to my insurance coverage. It was explained that all the insurance would cover is the eye exam and nothing else. Glasses and other stuff would have to be paid out of pocket, something we weren't prepared for. Needless to say my kids missed their yearly exam. When i finally had an opportunity to call the insurance they called out the office name and told me that nothing has changed since last year. It was explained to ma that they are telling everyone the same story if they have the same insurance as i do. Also, i used to be able access my prescription online but that has since changed as well. I understand that they would rather deal with self pay and private insurance, but even working 45 hours a week that is just not in the cards for us. I would recommend them years ago but can no longer. The bottom line is that if your not a profitable patient they dont want to see you. If you still choose to go they will do what they can to squeeze money from you to line their pockets with.
