Hickory Grove Kennels

We have a rescue Yorkshire Terrier named Baxter who has some pretty serious separation anxiety. (We are definitely his emotional support humans 😊). When I had meetings in Pittsburgh while my wife was in Maine, we were facing a total of about ten days where Baxter couldn't simply stay in a kennel in KC.

I started looking for a kennel in the Pittsburgh area where I could leave him for a couple of days without worrying that he'd be stressed, anxious, or miserable. One of my new teammates, a local dog owner with four large dogs of her own, highly recommended Hickory Grove. She spoke very highly of Cathy, her training skills, and the care she provides.

Meet Ellie. She is 17 months old and having the time of her life accompanying me in the role of Service dog. Cathy, Ellie and I have been working together for a year now and it is Cathy’s expertise and guidance that has made this possible. She is an excellent, patient and loving mentor. Ellie has been able to travel with me, staying in hotels and a vacation resort as well as a fishing lodge over the border. Together we have lounged by the pool and dined in restaurants ranging from a hot dog stand to white tablecloth. She goes grocery shopping and to the hair salon. Cathy is the best at what she does. We have 2 Amstaffy puppies and we did the puppy obedience package with her and our boys responded to her in such a positive loving way. I strongly encourage her for training.
