“I’ve been a client and membership holder since 2023, and as long as Karleen is at Hand & Stone, I’ll continue to be one too.

I was assigned to Karleen by chance shortly after having my son, when I was dealing with chronic pain, severe neck stiffness, and mobility issues. I spent months searching for answers. I saw multiple doctors, including specialists, and even tried chiropractic care, which unfortunately made things worse. Out of desperation, I booked a massage appointment and happened to get Karleen—and honestly, it was one of the best things that could have happened.

After my very first massage, I was able to move my neck more than I had in six months. I started seeing her regularly, and over time the pain, stiffness, and flexibility issues completely resolved. She truly gave me my comfort and quality of life back after months of suffering.

I now see Karleen 3–4 times a month. Recently, I spent a month in Florida and missed my regular massages, and the difference in how I felt was incredibly noticeable. That’s when I realized just how much her work helps me stay comfortable and pain-free.

What sets Karleen apart is that she never gives a cookie-cutter massage. Every session is customized to exactly what your body needs that day. Whether I’m dealing with lower back pain, migraines, shoulder tension, or general stress, she knows exactly what techniques to use and what areas need attention. She’s highly skilled in trigger point therapy, reflexology, Reiki, hot stone massage, and the most amazing cold stone facial massage.

Beyond her skill, Karleen is genuinely one of the kindest, most caring people I’ve met. She listens, she remembers, and she truly wants her clients to feel better. You can tell she loves what she does and has mastered her craft.

“If your whirlpool is constantly inoperative, and your excuse is because it’s 25 years old, then maybe it’s time to get a new whirlpool. I pay a lot of money in membership fees to walk by a whirlpool that that I can’t use because it doesn’t work half the time.
What’s it going to take to get someone to fix the two broken shower heads in the women’s locker room? Lowe’s is literally two miles from the wellness center…just sayin!
Also, the toxic environment in the pool area needs to be addressed! The aquatic class participants are constantly harassed by the lap swimmers who refuse to give us extra space in the pool to conduct our class safely. Basically, I’m just tired of having to endure the constant aggravation when acquiring enough room in the pool to enjoy and get the full benefits that aquatic classes offer. I am not going to tolerate the lap swimmers harassing us anymore, nor should we have to! Please address the situation!
NEW RULE:
All aquatic classes will automatically have three lanes reserved for that class. If the third lane is not required, due to the lack of participants, then an additional lap lane will be reopened for lap swimming.
There…I just gave you solutions to all the problems I presented.“

“Valerie did such a fabulous job for my honey that she went ahead and scheduled me for a facial without asking me first (ugh right?) The better half kept forcing me to "feel her face" due to how smooth it was! The option she chose was called Dermaplaning, a light scrapping of the layer of dead skin like derabrasion with her facial. I typically shy away from facials as they typically cause my skin to break out. After some arm twisting, I reluctantly agreed. On appointment day, I arrived at the location. Valerie is a one women shop that operates out of a building that leases out to various smaller salons, barbers and businesses. She performed an European facial and used a probiotic face application to prevent any break outs taking into account my past experiences I shared. It turns out the treatment did not cause a breakout and definitely worth the time. Recommended.“
