My first time at this salon and I will definitely be back! All the staff seemed very kind, genuine and friendly. Huge shout-out to Gwen, who cut my hair with so much care and excellent skill. Gwen even asked me how I wanted it to be styled, which is something most other stylists (at least in my experience) don't ask. So my hair turned out so fabulous and I'm so happy I went to this salon. Ok department store, no better or worse than others. I do feel they are sort of outdated and lost touch with who their customers are and probably cater to a more mature crowd. I used to love their domestics department, but after a few year hiatus went there recently to get something I thought was pretty common (clip curtain rings to fit a 1" dia pole) and found they didnt have anything in that size despite carrying the thicker poles. On the plus side this location is in a mall that has pretty much everything. I do find JC Penney to be on the high side price wise but if you do check the clearance racks you can score a good deal.

I mean, my haircut turned out OK, but the vibe here is just quite depressing. Not sure how else to describe it. Old looking drop ceiling, generic salon pictures on the wall, fm radio playing a fuzzy channel.I also witnessed a stylist answer their cell phone literally while in the middle of shampooing someone's hair. I feel like that's just in really poor taste
