“The Perfect Workout is, for me, The Perfect Therapy. A 20 minute workout, one on one with a trainer, in a private studio with Nautilus equipment for slow-and-heavy weightlifting to the point of failure. I chose the once a week plan, though you can do more. My trainer keeps track of my lift time, my lift capacities, and increases the challenge at a pace tailored for me.<br><br>4 months in – 40 pound bags of kitty litter became easy to lift in and out the car. It used to be a struggle for me.<br><br>5 months in – DEXA scan shows I am 1 stddev ahead of my peers, meaning my bones are stronger than typical of my peers. My PCP remarked “You’re strong” during one of the physical fitness annual tests.<br><br>17 months in – I am 25 pounds lighter than the day I started, without any major diet changes. I do eat protein after workouts and as my first meal most days.<br><br>TPW has a phone app that makes it easy to arrange workout schedules, change plans. They also have body weight monitoring apps, but I haven’t used those.<br><br>I am very happy with my personal trainer, Fran. I am an enthusiastic participant in TPW. One on one private workouts are very healing.”
