When I pulled up to the window and attempted to order a steak burger n’ chocolate shake, I was kindly informed that this is now a Schumacher Homes. The staff reoriented me to time and place, and shared their CEO’s secret burger seasoning blend to calm me. When I got home, I created the mix in my kitchen, and gently crafted my own burger. (I did sign an NDA, but I can share this: the secret ingredient is love). I called them back, having forgotten to solve my milkshake problem, and was given clear instructions for making a shake sans-blender. I’ll never yearn for steak n’ shake again.

We moved into our home a week ago, and are beyond happy with our Schumacher experience. The entire office staff in Greensburg was a pleasure to work with, responsive to us throughout entire process, and helped us get creative to meet all of our wants/needs in our build. Kevin our builder was the BEST! We were lucky to be on site every day, and he was responsive to any questions/concerns/updates we had throughout the whole process. We handled our own site prep and utilities, and Kevin helped make sure we stayed on timeline with our own work so nothing was delayed. The contractors hired were all professional and did excellent work. The job site stayed clean. Build broke ground mid June and we were in by Halloween. Thank you Schumacher team!

Schumacher Homes were amazing to deal with. We always felt like a top priority, throughout the whole process of having a new home built. If we had questions, they were more than happy to take the time to explain everything to us. My home was built start to finish in 4 months. So very happy with our decision to have Schumacher Homes help us achieve our dream home. I would recommend them to anyone. Our GM was spot on with every detail.

We are freshly moved into our newly built home from Schumacher Homes of Pittsburgh (Greensburg) and we couldn't be any happier with the entire process and outcome. From the moment we first walked in their doors and talked to Matt about our budget and ideas, to working with Staci on all the fun details, and getting constant updates from Jeff on how the build was going, and finally Lyn keeping us informed on the financial side of things — it was overall a very good experience. 10 months from the very beginning and just under 5 months for the build — my wife, myself, and our boys are excited to make this house our home for many, many years to come. Thanks to all who were involved.

My wife and I recently built and closed on our new house. Can’t say enough about our builder Todd to help make everything run smoothly. Also, Credit to Justin with design Staci and Lin with planning. Overall the process was pleasant and exciting. This will be the only house I ever plan on building, but if I needed to do another one, I wouldn’t be afraid to go with them again

Highly recommend looking somewhere else if you are looking to have a nice home built.
There was not a single step of the construction process that was completed correctly. After 3 loan extensions, our new construction is still a mess.
Swollen floor joints (sub floor used was against manufacturer recommendations for our area), paint all over fixtures, flooring, mirrors, baseboards, carpet, door handles, terrible drywall seams and screw pops in every room, un-sanded drywall mud that was pained over, cracks all through basement floor and hollow areas under slab where base delaminated (they openly admit they do not compact base), carpet seams everywhere, downspouts not placed in accordance with blue prints, counter tops misalignment, damaged trim, damaged floor, damaged tub and shower, paint on stair case railing, non functioning cabinet hardware, cabinet damage, unfinished cabinets. Bats living in siding corners ( no critter caps). Mismatched paint on walls, (never covered primer). Very poor concrete finishing. Porch post encasements were stained 2 hours before a tornado came through the area and had to be stained again and are crooked as well. Tile upgrade to bathrooms have lippage throughout and had to be redone 3 times and still look like a disaster.
An entire exterior wall was completely finished and had to be removed from home. Framed off center by 6 inches. Counter tops had to be installed twice, cut wrong for cooktop. AC unit was seized on initial start up. Brick under window sill had a saw tooth pattern and had to be redone 3 times and still not even. Doors had to be repainted from damage as well as shutters. French drain system damaged in multiple spots, after requesting proof of repair, the foundation was backfilled the next day. Multiple shingles replaced, nails exposed, torn ridge caps left in place for me to find.
The house was not fully dried in for 7 months. Missing a basement door and second story window for that duration.
Ceiling had to be redone 3 times, still have seams exposed. Approximately 11 visits to the home for drywall correction, even though the damage is unfixable.
We had mold complications after non pressure treated OSB was sandwiched to our concrete foundation for electric panels, which was finally remedied.
Kitchen sink had to be replaced after drywall crew scratched it all over by washing tools off. They then snapped off air admittance valve during installation and left it there for me to find.
Painters urinated all over toilets and flooring. (The builder did pull both toilets and replace).
Moved in after 1 year of starting the project. They still had a long punch list to complete and promised our possessions would be protected. We had paint on our brand new appliances after the first visit.
None of these findings were ever brought to our attention and corrected. We had to find all of these issues ourselves and seek expert consultation to prove it to them occasionally while still meeting resistance.
Their financial promotions they offer are also not helpful. You will notice on the closing costs that you buy them. And Schumacher mortgage will not take your side like a traditional bank would to remediate defects of construction.
None of this is false. I have photos and videos of everything.
I went as high as the regional manager to report all issues and share photos with no change in our outcome.

We recently closed on our new home with Schumacher Homes of Greensburg. We absolutely love it!! Our builder, Kevin, was so easy to work with. He was in constant communication with us and answered all questions and resolved any issues we had. I know our build was a little different than what they were used to, (our previous house was on on the same property) but it gave us the opportunity to see the craftsmanship that went into our home and get to know everyone that was working on it. I would highly recommend Schumacher if Greensburg to anyone that was looking into building a new home. We couldn’t be happier!

My wife and I recently closed on our house with Schumacher and we couldn't be more thrilled. Everyone we worked with was professional, courteous, and incredibly knowledgeable. In particular our builder, Todd Farkas. Todd made us feel at ease every step of the way. If there was a minor problem, miscommunication, etc. he fixed it. His attention to detail and quality is pretty remarkable. He put in the long hours and was always available. If you are in western PA and looking to build, contact Schumacher and request Todd. You will not be disappointed! Thanks again for everything Todd. Shane, Emily, & Truman

I recently built a home with Schumacher and had a fantastic experience. I would highly recommend this builder to anyone interested in building a home on your own lot. My builder Kevin was great to work with. He handled all of my concerns with professionalism and expertise. He was responsive, effective and passionate about all aspects in the building process. A real advocate in this process. I enjoyed working with him for a full year! I can’t say enough about the whole team that I dealt with from start to finish. Well done and thank you!!
