I called at 7pm on a Tuesday evening to book an appointment for Wednesday using a gift card. The lady on the phone, Shayla (?), was most helpful and assisted in making the appointment, explaining, that since the gift card had $129, and the massage was $80, I can add on services or choose to use the balance another time. I chose the latter, as massages are such a treat, and I would like the opportunity for a return visit. Come Wednesday, after a good massage session with Alyssa, and when it was time to check out, a lady behind the desk, not in the Hand and Stone uniform, a manager perhaps, wasted no time offering me their promotions and monthly membership. When I declined, and was ready to pay using my gift card, I was told that the gift card is only good for 1 service session and there would be no balance left on it. This lady also mentioned how Shayla is relatively new and has given me the wrong information regarding the usage of my card, and she will need to train Shayla better. I felt really cheated from this experience, as no other solutions was offered apart from better training of their staff- which is not the customer’s job. If an associate is poorly trained and gave out the wrong information, the establishment ought to have either 1) honor the previously relayed information or 2) offered a middle ground to bridge the gap between the wrong information and the correct procedure. A lovely massage has been thoroughly spoiled by this interaction. There are a number of Hand and Stone massage near me, and I will not be going back to this one in Flourtown.

Refused to give me a massage because I have cancer and failed to tell me this till I was in the room with the masseuse. Put it all over my forms before I went in guess they don’t bother reading them. One of the most humiliating and embarrassing experiences of my life. Guess this is not a cancer friendly establishment. For that reason alone would not recommend!!

Abby is the absolute best! Very professional and her massages are very thorough. Everytime I leave her I feel wonderfully relaxed. My experience is always pleasant and professional when I visit. However, I am displeased with and shocked at how the argumentative the manager (Michelle) of the location has been with me over the telephone on more than one occasion. Her communication skills are ineffective while her tone is unpolite and condescending. She's very argumentative. It concerns me that she would speak to a customer that way. I can only imagine how she speaks to staff. Training on customer service and overall communication is recommended. Avoid her at all costs if you want a pleasant experience. That woman wants to talk down to you and argue. Abby is terrific!!

I booked an appointment using a gift card and provided the gift card code at the time of booking. While driving over, I called to confirm whether the physical card was required and explained that I was already en route.
I was told the physical card was mandatory and given two options: arrive late and have my session significantly shortened, or cancel and be charged a $40 fee. No alternative solutions were offered beyond those two options. I explained I was rushing back to retrieve the card and trying to make it on time, which was both stressful and unsafe on the road.
At that point, I decided it was no longer worth continuing to drive back and forth, as I would have very limited time for the appointment and did not feel it was safe to rush while driving. I called back to explain that the appointment should be canceled and asked whether the cancellation fee could be waived given the circumstances.
A regional/operations manager joined the call and stated her name as Alicia. She spoke to me in a condescending and dismissive manner. Rather than de-escalating, I was told I would not be welcome at this location again.
This was an unnecessarily hostile and rigid interaction over a simple gift card clarification. The experience was stressful rather than relaxing and fell far below expectations for a service business.
After this experience, my family and I are reconsidering our massage provider. We’ve since realized there are many excellent local, independently owned massage businesses in the area, and we’ll be choosing to support small and local going forward.

I went in on Thursday to get a facial, where I was greeted by a lovely young lady at the counter. As I was waiting for my facial in the waiting room, I was given dirty looks by some of the associates. Not entirely sure what I did, I guess some of these girls aren’t trained to accommodate to their guests in the waiting room. Ridiculous. That’s not even why I’m writing this review. That facial gave me the BIGGEST reaction, all over my face. I am burning up and swelling - I had to go to the ER! I don’t know what that woman put on my face, but it is NOT suitable for public consumption. Not only was she extremely rough when doing the facial, literally left black and blue marks all over my face. While she left the room to do god knows what, I overheard some of the girls talking badly about a previous client, racially motivated comments were thrown in the mix. Extremely unprofessional and outright rude! I will never be returning to this spa. Not just this location, but the chain as a whole! This place needs to be shut down.

I had a great experience with Sharita. I pulled my lower back a week prior and went in for a sports massage. She was professional, clearly explained what the massage would entail, and worked with me to identify pain points to make sure we fully worked out my lower back during the 50-minute session. She was such a great CMT that I signed up for the monthly subscription. I’ll definitely be going back!

I was ending my membership and trying to use up my packages . They made it very difficult for no reason. They even charged me an extra fee and tried to explain it away, this was by the manager by the way! Very shady business practices . Will never use this place or hand and stone ever again! The massages are 50 min. Not 60 min.like they advertise. I've even been cheated out of time with massages because some of the therapist don't come to the rooms in what feel like forever. Save your money and go somewhere else where they will be professional!
