About Ambler Area YMCA
The Ambler Area YMCA is a welcoming facility that promotes healthier lives for all. It offers a fitness center, group exercise studios, a swimming pool, and gymnasium, catering to various ages and skill levels. The YMCA is known for its accommodations for families with children with disabilities or autism, making it a popular choice among local options. Visitors appreciate the convenient location and the variety of classes available. The Kid Zone is a highlight for parents, who also value the two hours of free babysitting during workouts. While some members wish for extended swim hours and more outdoor amenities, the YMCA is generally considered a great place to work out, with excellent equipment, clean facilities, and friendly staff. The management could improve in terms of pool maintenance and communication, but overall, the YMCA offers a wide range of activities and amenities for the entire family at reasonable prices.
Great gym, lots of equipment, super clean, locker rooms are always clean, staff is super friendly & helpful. Way too strict on their guest policy. Pay $75 a month for a membership - you can only bring a guest M-F 5am-4pm & Sat/Sun 7am-12pm… not friendly hours for people who work & you also can’t bring the same guest more than 3 times a year.. I understand not wanting to overcrowd the gym with too many guests but this rule is too strict imo for a $75 membership. Courts are first come first serve - but theres always the same groups of men taking over the courts which doesn’t allow space or time for others who want to play/use the court. Other than that, love this...read full review
I really enjoy going to the Ambler Y. The land and water classes are very good. My only concern is that there is not enough room in the women’s locker room when there are 2 water aerobic classes going on at the same time. The place is so clean and the desk staff is very friendly and helpful.
Great facilities with an amazing outdoor pool. The staff is always so friendly but the lifeguards mean business. We’ve been members for two years and plan to keep going for years to come.
