I take both my dog and cat to SFPC and cannot say enough good things. My dog has received TPLO by Dr. Schlimgen on both knees and both of my animals get all their primary care from this clinic. I live in Vancouver WA and will continue to happily drive to this clinic for all care because everyone I interact with is kind, thorough, and the prices are reasonable. We love SFPC!

Once again Sherwood Pet Clinic came to my rescue! My little 8 lb Mini Dachshund helped herself to some spiked eggnog over Christmas. She was so sick we didn't think she was going to pull through. Dr Schlimgen got her right in on the 2nd and went right to work with Subcutaneous Fluid Therapy, nausea and diarrhea meds and prescription diet. After just one day she has already shown great improvement. She is 15 years old, making this a very long week for us all. Thank you so much for the care you have provided over the years.

I so badly wanted to like this vet , but our experience today was pretty bad. I couldn't get into my normal vet and I've heard so many great things about this place so I decided to give it a chance. when I noticed a small growth on my dogs nose I felt it was urgent that I needed to get It looked at before we left for vacation. When they asked me about my dogs health history, I told them that we do titer testing, but that he was also up-to-date on his vaccines. I specified about that. I figured once I told them about the titer test if they had any problems, they would've let me know . They never mentioned anything about a rabies vaccine. I took a half day at work only to get there after we waited about 25 minutes just for the doctor to come give him a treat and then tell me that he can't be seen today because he doesn't have a rabies vaccine.. they also said that it is such a small amount of people that actually don't have their dogs rabies vaccinated that they didn't even think to ask me. I can't give my dog rabies vaccine because he has had very bad reactions to them. That being said taking time off work losing pay just to show up and sit there and then have them Tell me they can't see him was beyond disappointing. The communication was absolutely horrible to assume that your dog has all the vaccines in my opinion is irresponsible to just assume. I think you have to ask very very specific questions. If you want to be seen at this vet, I don't think they will be transparent. They may have been friendly, but other than that the experience was pretty bad

They don't seem to have much staff turnover, so I always feel comfortable leaving my dogs with the vets and vet techs. I feel that they always do a very thorough job and go above and beyond. I've moved away from Sherwood years ago but I still bring my pets here. They are so professional and caring.

Had our first visit in May 2022 at the previous location and met the staff & Doctor. Small place but everyone was friendly as could be. We took him back but to the NEW location in August 2022 for his dental cleaning. New place is large and beautiful and spotless! While our fur baby was out, we also had them do: Nails clipped, rabies shot, FVRCP & ears cleaned. And oh yeah, Dental cleaning. ~$420 total. Had him about 4-5 hours. Again very friendly doctor and staff! He came home tired but otherwise fine. We are appreciative and so glad we found Sherwood Family Pet Clinic!

Let me start off by saying they got me in with two weeks notice and that was great. We arrived and met with the vet tech who took my kittens TPR. We then met with the doc and a different tech. The vet wasn't pushy with treatment which is always nice. When it came to vaccinations that's when it got a little silly. The vet tech clearly didn't know how to properly restrain a kitten causing her to flail.she wasn't holding he at all just kind of keeping her on the table? The vet ended up having to poke her four times to give two injections. I didn't offer to hold because I know the protocol as I've worked in the field. She didn't need to be poked four times to do two vaccinations. Train your technicians on proper gentle animal restraint, you can scruff or float them. You could always take the pet back if you don't have enough support to do it in front of the owners. The tech seemed a bit nervous. Then it came to rescheduling for our next vaccinations . The series should be 3-4 weeks after the last shots. We discussed dates and asked if we could have the 25th, I made sure to verify with her that the time frame would be acceptable. The receptionist clarified that the timing was totally fine. Mind you I'm in the car with a kitten who was freaking out trying to do math in my head. After returning home I realized that was five weeks out not four. I ended up canceling my future appointments. Also there was a lot of staff in the front. That means a lot of hands that can keep things neat around the place. I figure it was messy because they are moving locations. Would I go back? No.

So disappointed from my interaction with the staff at Sherwood Family Pet Clinic. The receptionist informed me that I would have a $20 fee for boarding my dog for a couple of minutes. They never informed me of this when I dropped off my dog. She was very rude about how she handled this added on fee which I was not warned in advance. After complaining she did drop the fee. I wasn't even late to pick up my dog. They had said it would take 30 min and I was gone 15-20 minutes. Crazy! Interesting that I had to call three time even to check in my dog. On the bright side, the vet was very nice. I will be switching to a different vet practice.

Well, this will be a hard review to write. We found Sherwood Pet Clinic very recently. Mango, our pup, went in for a check up late last year to get caught up on all her shots, etc. Everything was fine, and we loved the place. She started having accidents, which she never does, so we brought her back in early January. They gave us some tips on what to watch out for and how to measure her water intake. Just three days later, Mango started having problems breathing. We were able to get her in for an emergency visit. They were able to put her on oxygen (and save her life) and called around until they found an overnight clinic to take her in for the night. She spent two days at the overnight clinic. Meanwhile, Dr. Schlimgen called nightly and spoke to us for more than 30 minutes describing what was going on in detail. Very detailed and attentive. Mango came home to us with pulmonary hypertension and very high creatinine levels. We retested a few days later and they had gone way down! Unfortunately, the number shot way back up within a week. Mango was struggling and in pain. Her quality of life was way down. We had to put our sweet Mang Mang down, and this clinic handled everything so well. We'd never experienced this process before, but we appreciated the way the staff handled everything.
