About Southwest Community Center
Southwest Community Center is a friendly facility with helpful staff and efficient services. It features a clean, bright, and spacious pool with large windows and a giant hot tub. The center offers various activities, including yoga, skating, swimming, basketball, gym, and dancing. There are two indoor pools: one designated for laps, which is 9 feet deep, and a wading pool with a slide, up to 4 feet 6 inches at the deepest. The pool area also has showers and lockers for rinsing off before and after swimming, making it convenient for families. The lap pool is always sparkling, and staff monitor water quality closely. The center has a good weight room with Nautilus equipment and cardio machines, along with other amenities like towels and snacks for purchase. Open pool time is usually from 2-4 pm, so arriving early is recommended due to capacity limits. The center is ideal for families, with children enjoying the pool and other activities. There are also programs like aqua aerobics and rollerskating, making it a great place for both fun and relaxation. Overall, it’s a wonderful spot for community members looking for a place to enjoy safe, family-friendly activities and a sense of community.
We pretty much only use the pool here, both for open play swim and swimming lessons for the kids. Never had any issues. The slide is almost always open during open swim. Shout out to the lifeguards who scan the water non-stop like robots. I even came in at 4:05pm recently and open swim had just started 5 minutes before. Not a single soul was in the pool, yet all three lifeguards were scanning the water anyway. I chuckled out loud at the sight, but honestly, it's a good sign that they take their jobs seriously and stay on task.
Great place. Several program options. Yoga, skating, swimming, bb, gym etc. Bottle water, towels, snacks available for purchase. Great front desk staff and trainers (Allen Beebe - Excellent). Friendly.
Family fun and worry/sunburnt-free! These days I'm all about finding that perfect balance between work, spending time with loved ones, while enjoying activities. That's why I'm obsessed with this new find in the Southwest community! This neighborhood community center has cool activities like two indoor pools. One is designated for laps- 9 feet deep and the other includes a wading pool with slide, up to 4 ft and 6 inches at the deepest. I also love that there is a shower and lockers open for use so you can clean up before heading to the pool. The kids seem to absolutely love it - there are tons of other families with little ones. Open pool time is ~ 2-4pm, go early so you can get in. There's a capacity limit, our visit happened to be 75. If want to make it, BE THERE EARLY. Can not stress this enough. It is not the staff's fault if you can not get in. There are standards for a reason. You do not want to be cooped up in a space where it can not accommodate for more than what's expected. You also want to keep in mind that there are lifeguards to look out for everyone's safety and well being, so please be mindful of that as well! There are also other parts of the center to enjoy, such as an indoor basketball gym, rollerskating sessions, aqua aerobics, gym, and even dancing. It's the perfect blend of family-friendly fun and adult-approved relaxation. If you're looking for a place with a strong sense of community, stunning scenery, and a pool that's basically its own mini-vacation destination, then this is your spot! Totally recommend it! P.S. If you ever see me poolside with a noodle in hand, say hi! I'm learning how to swim - and it's fun to make some friends while we're at it!
