The VA mental health clinic is a scam akin to fortune telling. Therapists just make it up as they go along. They can do anything and say anything and call it "therapy" no matter how nonsensical, stupid, or insulting it is. Therapists see themselves as mentors and life coaches so they think their personal opinions, personal perceptions,, personal philosophies, and personal anecdotes constitute "wisdom and profundity" especially when stated in a condescending manner. No mental health expertise is required. Their only methodology is that they think they are ministering to their inferiors. They are always going to be contrary. They are listening for things that they can judge, criticize, lecture about, insult, and/or laugh at and the MHC won't allow you to complain. Therapists exploit vulnerable people who crave guidance and approval, for the sake of their egos. No mental health expertise is required. Therapists do not care about symptoms or diagnoses. It's all guesswork. Therapists have no oversight nor do they evaluate effectiveness or progress. They do not care if they make things worse because they see their patients as lower forms of life. The important thing is that they fill in the hour by babbling nonsense in a condescending tone. I never heard one helpful thing in a mental health context but I do remember being insulted. I left each session feeling more stressed and full of dread, not that anyone cared. I went to the MHC for help but they made my life much, much worse with that condescending nonsense they call therapy, because their only intent is to make themselves feel superior. I read my MHC records and they are nothing but judgments and observations as if I was a lower form of life.; nothing about trying to help me or about progress. I asked the MHC to explain how they tried to help me but they refused because they know the truth. Therapy is for the sake of the therapist, not the patient.

Actually helping veterans would be cool. This entire system is a complete joke. Wait weeks for an authorized primary care doctor for 1 appt., just to turn around and then wait weeks for an authorization for a referral.
