I've been going to the Open Gate Acupuncture clinic off and on since the early 1990:s. I can't say enough good things about Mark Goldby. With his knowledge about herbs he was able to reduce my hepatitis C inflammation and severity of being a level 3 down to an almost non existent level 1. By him helping me I ended up a good candidate for the Harvoni treatment to cure hepatitis C. I've been cured for around 8 years. Thank you Mark for saving my life.

Richard is very knowledgable and considerate and I would recommend his treatment to anyone who is having difficulty or pain in their body. I sought help after breaking several bones in my left foot and was experiencing a longer than expected recovery to walking and running without pain. At the first appointment Richard was able to identify and explain to me what was most likely occurring in the ball of my foot and the original surgeon later agreed that Richard's diagnosis was most likely correct. This led to the treatment path that has me running again. Thank you!

This week I began experiencing sudden and absolute pain, making it was really painful to walk. I drove past Open Gate and was compelled to go in. First of all, the space is really charming and grounding- plants, pleasant smell, soft lighting and a wall of herbs- it feels like home. Clean but nothing pretentious.. like a portal to the East. I received acupuncture for my foot and it was the the best thing I did all week for it. Then there is Mark, and I am sure the other practitioners that work there are amazing as well, but he was an angel. A very kind, knowledgable, and down to earth human. As a woman I felt extremely safe and respected in his care, as I am sure all of his client's do. Not to mention, very talented- I was transported to "acu-land,"a very particular sense of relaxation, within minutes. I am from out of town but will certainly be returning when I visit Portland. Two days following the acupuncture, my pain has reduced about 75%, having made no other changes. This spot is a gem.
