This salon came recommended by my sister (a client), and so after moving to Portland I booked a haircut with Jazz -- on a Sunday, no less. She was super sweet and gave me a great cut. I was impressed at how careful she was to make sure that everything was exactly how I wanted. A consummate professional! After discovering that the salon now does color, I booked another appointment with Doyle for partial highlights (I'm trying to lighten my hair color gradually). He did an absolutely amazing job and my hair actually feels better than it did before, very healthy and natural looking. Doyle is a color expert, but also does cuts (he works at salons and fashion shows all over the world, not to mention significant charity work to empower individuals who have faced difficult life challenges). I highly recommend both Jazz and Doyle to anyone who is looking for a fantastic cut and/or color! (I'm sure everyone else at the salon is great, too, but my only experience has been with them, and I already have follow-up appointments booked!)
I came to New Vintage Beauty Lounge looking for a haircut with more personality because I loved the photos I saw on their website, Instagram, and other Yelp reviews. I had high expectations walking in, and immediately was impressed. Shelby and Mae were beyond delightful, and I genuinely had so much fun during this haircut! The salon has a super cozy feeling with beautiful plants draped along the walls, and I ended up getting the best haircut of my life. I cannot recommend this place enough, I walked out feeling so much more confident. I did a lot of research looking for the best place in Portland to get my hair cut, and I was pleased to find this magical little spot right on Mississippi. It's worth it!
Mae was so wonderful and made me feel so comfy and beautiful. My hair rocks in that "can't stop looking in the mirror" way. Finding a place I trust with my hair always feels intimidating, but this is definitely the place I was looking for. Cool style and lovely people.
