At 90 years old Ivan is still cutting hair. Ivan listens to his customers and cuts his client's hair just just the way they want it. Every time I come to Portland it would not be complete without a haircut from Ivan.

Ivan has been cutting my hair since 1961, when I was 13 years old. Even though I no longer reside in Portland, I still make it a point to see Ivan and have him cut my hair (all 20 of them!) every time I return to the area. His memory is amazing, even after all of these years, and his prices are modest. His shop... old charm... it hasn't changed much since I first saw it (except that there is no longer a large ball of string in the window... ask him about the string). FYI, if you would like your knives sharpened, he is a professional with very reasonable pricing. Appointment necessary? Of course! Plan ahead... you won't be disappointed.

Ivan the Hairable is my go-to barber. He definitely knows how to cut and deal with Asian cowlicks which is what I greatly appreciate. His small talk always puts a smile on your face and he and I go into deep discussions about Carter knives :) Stay classy Ivan!
