My child and I had a fantastic experience working with Kate Crimmons! She was kind, patient, flexible, fun, and thoughtful in every interaction, as well as very helpful and knowledgeable to answer questions and provide support. Not all therapists are gifted in that way, and it's so appreciated. Highly recommend!

A direct quote from the Breathworks receptionist-

“Unfortunately, BreatheWorks is not able to guarantee any patient responsibility amount. We can give you an estimate, but costs are subject to change after insurance claims are processed. “

This flies against all state and federal regulations for CLEAR AND TRANSPARENT BILLING. Furthermore, billed amount for completed appointments should not “flex” after insurance is billed.

This smacks of business profits over patient care snd I am disheartened and disappointed. First two appointments I was talked down to and talked at as if my breathing issues, posture, sleep apnea and asthma where my fault instead of the result of illness, autoimmune disease, injury and a cancer syndrome. Then I get to be charged a -still undisclosed- fee to belly breath ten minutes on video appointment, 5 min S breath with 5 min more of diminishing talking at?? Nope. 0/10 dont recommend

** edit. Exact wording from receptionist is included below. Clinician did not discuss findings or evaluation at any point nor discuss how my health hx related to findings or any treatment plan. First treatment appointment was spent “belly breathing and S breathing” again this from the clinicians own words/descriptions and if “surface level”, then that is on them. I was VERY MUCH talked at and talked down to: when a clinician asks questions but doesn’t wait for answers and instead answers themselves all while pointing a finger at you through the screen, lecturing about your diaphragm while giving those “surface level” descriptions?!? that is most definitely patronizing and demeaning. I did not feel seen. I did not feel respected. I do not have any greater understanding of my treatment plan or influence of complex medical hx on that plan than I did day one.
For reference to those reading the review and deciding about “virtual care” I have in person speech therapy experience via my son and this was nothing like the caring and supportive interest of the past private practice clinician.

BreatheWorks was one of the only places that could address adult tongue tie, and I'm so glad I found them! Carley was awesome—incredibly knowledgeable, caring, and down-to-earth. I worked with her before and after my frenectomy, and she did a great job of helping me navigate a fairly opaque process. I've definitely noticed a difference in my sleep quality (I used to grind my teeth)!

The only thing I will say is that BreatheWorks can be a tiny bit challenging from an admin perspective (this has nothing to do with the therapists, who all seem awesome). I had to switch therapists early on, and it didn't seem like there was much documentation from my previous therapist. Scheduling was a little challenging, and I ended up getting double-billed for two sessions. They very quickly fixed the issue, though, and are generally very available and willing to help.

My son was diagnosed with ASD four years ago. And since then, we have been to two speech therapists, a sleep doctor, two autism Specialist and countless pediatrician visits. He has even had his tonsils removed to help with sleep and breathing, but nothing worked. When we came to breatheworks, everything changed in less than an hour. They discovered that he had a severe tongue tie, which was the root of his sleep and eating difficulties. They immediately sent a referral for tongue tie release surgery and we are scheduled within three weeks. Even more impressive, my son was able to start therapy just 2 days later, to retrain him on how to breathe through his nose instead of his mouth. The staff at breatheworks are wonderful. The two clinicians we worked with were incredibly kind, patient, and gentle with my son. They kept him engaged and helped him complete the exercises. And even gave us a print out to continue practicing at home. I cannot recommend breatheworks enough their experience and compassionate care has been life changing for our family.

My voice coach, Logan, is both excellent at his job and a very compassionate and affirming individual. It usually takes me a while to be comfortable around most men but I felt safe with him pretty much immediately. It's nice to be at place where you can both feel safe and make good progress at the same time.

I enjoyed working with Anita, but didn't feel that the exercises helped my apnea symptoms and I didn't know when I'd start seeing the benefit. I tried this for a couple months have decided to move on. It felt more like a business than healthcare.

They're just alright. Its defiantly a business out to get your money. I came to Breatheworks for gender affirming reasons and the initial assessment was fine. Actual sessions are 30 minutes long but my facilitator is always 4 minutes or so late and ends the session usually 5 minutes early. My instructor also explains things in ways I often don't always understand. Its just been frustrating. Cherry on top is I just called to cancel my last couple appointments because my mental health needs a break and the person who answered, Angel (?) ended the phone call by saying 'thank you sir'. My name is feminine. My chart should say my pronouns. Im disappointed and feel really dysphoric now.

Edit: 05/17 the owner reached out and was really kind. They apologized for their employee who misgendered me and said they’d be doing training. I was offered a new clinician who I tried out and was lovely. It seems like they do care when you bring up issues, it’s just hard to go about bringing up those grievances.
