Ed is the best! He is not only a great barber, but his command of the English language and current events makes a hair cut informative and interesting. He is also an accomplished author and well-travelled wanderer. He knows history of Jville, where to hike and how to give a buzz cut.

Do yourself a favor - go to Jacksonville Barber and tell him Mike sent you (he’ll say “who the hell is Mike?”)

This was EXACTLY what I was looking for!
The barber listened very well and executed the style perfectly. Most qualified and affordable barber in Southern Oregon in my opinion. Haircut under $30 means I have room to leave a good tip which is my preference.

I have been going to the Jacksonville Barber Shop since 2003. Ed does a fine job of trimming beards. We sometimes engage in a discussion of politics while waiting or while in the chair. Sometimes several customers talking about the shortcomings of this or that politician. There are big picture windows looking out onto the tourists on the sidewalk and the only full stop sign on this part of highway 238. So even if you dont feel like discussion, there is entertainment. This is a clean large well lit shop, with historical stuff you might expect of a building built in 1870something. Ed is a damn good barber at a reasonable price.
