Over the years we’ve eaten at many of the McMenamin restaurants in Oregon and Washington; the Sand Trap in Gearhart is one of my favorites as it is tucked away in a small beach community. They serve dependably good food, fresh salads, good sandwiches, soups and chowder. Our server was attentive and pleasant. Surprisingly, there was no wait to be seated for our party of six.

this is one of my favorite McMenamins hotel and golf course. The food is the usual McMenamins fair but what really draws me to the location is the golf course. It has a great history and his well kept.

What an awesome course! This will forever hold a special place in my heart. Short but challenging layout with perfect greens and lots of danger lurking in the fairway to test your skills. Hole 18 is a beast of a finisher. I was lucky to have the elk take a stroll through the course during my one of my rounds. Pretty cool seeing 5 bull elk hanging around on the 18th tee box. The course staff was top rate and everything from check in, to safely herding the elk away from the greens, to asking how your round went, it's evident everyone involved with this course take great pride in this amazing place.
