On recommendation of my realtor, I contracted with this company for drainage and fencing last year. Did solid work installing a sump pump and trench, then building a fence along one side and a portion of the rear of my former property. Pricing and timing was excellent. However, invoicing procedures were extremely lax--I had to pursue them to be billed for the drainage work, then never got billed for the fence until over a year later. I'd so many bills for moving and renovations, I myself neglected to pursue receipt of the fencing bill. Once I did receive that bill over a year later, I was overcharged by almost $300 from the original estimate due to not only the incompetence of the bookkeeper, but the truculence of the owner who refused to consider the original bid. The $300 was for a back portion of the fence that then should have been subtracted from the original bill so I could split the remainder of that cost with my neighbor. Then, that $300 was indeed my responsibility. Instead, his bookkeeper and he insisted on adding that charge to the original estimate. And then threatened to send things to Collections. As soon as I got sent a bill, I responded and paid in full (with two payments) out of good faith what was asked. But I also requested that the history and amounts be reviewed. This was not only refused but I got threatened again. I overpaid just to close the account, but I warn others that, as excellent as they are at doing their construction jobs, National Pest Control has not only shoddy and careless billing but is unreasonable and antagonistic without need.
