Customer service on the phone was awful this morning. The older lady kept talking over me and insinuating I didn’t know what I was talking about when it came to my pet and prior services. Told me to go somewhere else. Extremely unprofessional.

I have used them for over 20 years for our dogs and the care they needed. Hanson-Meekins has always provided exceptional compassionate care and is fairly priced. Great people work here who truly care about your pet.

Vet was nice. Only down side was the set up on being seen. Very confusing to new comers in trying to see a vet in a stressful situation while they have a sick pet. But again the ppl were friendly

After nearly ten years with this veterinary office, I never imagined I’d be treated with such cruelty and disregard for my pets’ well-being. The vets themselves have always been kind and competent, which makes this even harder to write — because the women at the front desk have made it absolutely impossible to continue care here.

The last straw was when my husband was in a car accident in our only vehicle. I called, stressed and scared, explaining the situation and asking if there was any possible way to arrange care for my diabetic cat — my literal fur baby — since we live an hour away. Instead of even a hint of compassion, the woman at the counter treated me like I was irresponsible and uncaring. She actually told me I “should have better time-management skills,” and implied that I wasn’t putting my pet first. Meanwhile, this clinic hasn’t taken appointments in years, so we were expected to drive an hour and then sit in the car for additional hours waiting to be seen — something that can put a diabetic cat into shock.

What was once an inconvenient but workable system has now become completely unmanageable for anyone who doesn’t live directly in Coos Bay. Their policies make it nearly impossible to get timely, humane care for a sick animal — and instead of acknowledging that, the front desk staff blame the clients.

And then, after a decade of loyalty, they sent me a letter saying they will no longer see my pets at all — cutting off access to the medication my diabetic kitty needs to stay alive. No warning. No conversation. Just a cold letter severing care for the animals they’ve known for years.

It breaks my heart, because the veterinarians themselves are wonderful people. But the front office staff are rude, dismissive, and, frankly, cruel. Their behavior cost my pets their longtime healthcare home. They should be ashamed of how they treat the people who trust them with their animals’ lives.

Whatever consequences come from behaving this way are well-deserved.

Great doctors. Our dogs do well there.

My family have been taking our fur babies there for over 30 years we are very pleased with the vets. However it is very hard getting a prescription it has takin me up to a week to get my prescription.I've told them I'm out or close to being out it did not make a difference to them.. otherwise I love Hanson and Meeks. They take very good care of my fur babies.

I have always had nothing but great experiences here. The staff is wonderful and the prices are reasonable. I’ve never had to wait an overly long time, also they will give you a beeper so you can wait in your car if you want and they’ll beep you when it’s your turn.

This is the only vet my family and I will ever go to from now on! The most caring and understanding staff. They go above and beyond to take the best care of your animal.

They love our dogs 🐕 and take great care with them. Love these folks. Still the best in town great with our babies.
