This review is also my testimony. Living with chronic pain can feel like an oxymoron. It is a very humbling, lonely place that occupies your body as well as your mind. It distresses people to hear about it, so you try your level best to hide it, smile and be pleasant. You try to overcome and “think positive” but what’s going on inside is simply incongruent. You can’t think it away, just learn to cope. My body had become bound up as a result of mind-bending chronic pain, fibromyalgia and other health issues. I could barely raise my hands over my head or hold my back and head up properly. It was as though I had wilted and become stuck. There was a painful spot in my back that was so intense that I referred to it as “where my soul lives”. I first met Dr. Scott Richman in 2015. I was feeling hopeless and not really expecting much from my visit. He’s a big strong guy with a very kind and intuitive demeanor; definitely a gentle giant. I will always remember looking at him, while holding back tears, and admitting that I was “circling the drain”. He understood all of the unspoken words that went into that statement. Then he touched my “soul” and the healing process began. I walked out and felt like I had back surgery but without surgery or recovery! I will always remember that feeling, it was a miracle that changed my life. Dr. Scotts ability to “”see” inside a person with his hands is beyond explanation. He felt my troubled areas while explaining what was going on and techniques that I could do to help it. Learning from him was priceless. Everything made sense and that understanding helped my mind as well. I’m not a small person. Dr. Scott is such a big guy that it instills trust that you’re truly in capable hands.I did not feel awkward when he adjusted me, quite the opposite. I was able to close my eyes, relax and trust the process. My time in Oregon was limited but Dr. Scott healed me up enough to the point that I was able to keep working on what he taught me. Everyday I went to a local pool with a waterproof mp3 player and a snorkel. I would kick for hours while working on what I learned from Dr. Scott. 50 pounds seemed to just drop off. My only goal was to move my body (music helped). I was eventually able to use my arms. I was so happy when I could easily raise my arms above my head! I needed to find new things to do in the pool so I watched youtube videos on proper swimming technique. Over time ,I became an excellent swimmer. When talking to others about swimming, my story always begins with Dr. Scott Richman. Fast forward Covid hit, a hurricane hit and things took a difficult turn but I had many, many great years. I miss Dr. Scott! My sister recently moved to Portland. She needed a chiropractor so she looked up Dr. Scott Richman. He’s been really helpful and also fixed her vertigo! She is so pleased with him that she encouraged me to write a review. I’ve thought about writing one for years but wasn’t sure that I could express that amount of gratitude that I have. Dr. Scott Richman has more than knowledge and expertise, he is truly gifted.

Dr Scott is super nice and very compassionate. I am going in for my 2nd time tomorrow and going in the the attitude that I can’t be helped. There is no rhyme or reason why I’m constantly so dizzy/tingly hands. MRI was clear. It’s a mystery and it sucks. But I appreciate the help!!
