About Jackson Wellsprings
Jackson Wellsprings is a peaceful and welcoming retreat that offers a relaxing atmosphere for visitors. Guests appreciate the clean facilities, including changing and shower rooms with lockers. It is recommended to bring a personal lock for safety, as the lockers do not lock. The hospitable staff, particularly noted for their warmth and enthusiasm, provide valuable information about the amenities and surrounding area. Visitors enjoy homemade baked goods and feel a sense of community, making it feel like a home away from home. The property features healing hot spring water, beautiful spaces for events, sacred hiking trails, and an organic garden. The "hotspring spa" has one hot tub, one large cold pool, sauna, and steam room. Sometimes it can be a little crowded, but there is usually plenty of room. Clothing is required during the day, and the night session is Clothing optional for 18+ guests. They now offer snacks, baked goods, cold drinks, and a large selection of homemade Popsicles, as the food options have changed over the years. Many events happen here, including yoga classes, ecstatic dances, kirtan, and weekend festivals, with details available on the website. The site also provides RV and tent camping spots, with a picnic area for visitors to enjoy. Visitors have described the vibe as peaceful and zen, with a mix of ages in the pools and sauna, and friendly people. The outdoor camping and picnic area is flat and grassy, with some road noise until around 10 pm. The locker room and showers are appreciated amenities, though some have noted the bathroom facilities can be a bit stinky. The sulphur-rich water attracts many outdoor enthusiasts. Additionally, visitors have had wonderful massages by staff, praised for their healing touch. Overall, Jackson Wellsprings remains a classic, welcoming place that invites guests to relax, explore, and rejuvenate.
Mellow is as mellow does. Every time I come down to Ashland (for the plays) I love to work in an evening (adults only) soak and swim. The soaking pool is the right temp (warm but can stay in for a long time) and the adjacent pool is a nice way to cool down (and float on back and watch the stars). Plan for a minimum 2 hours.
Jackson Wellsprings is one of those places that’s hard to describe, but in a good way.
It’s definitely quirky and a little rough around the edges. You can tell this place has been around for a while, like it probably peaked in the 70s and has just kept going since. But honestly, that’s part of the charm. If you’re expecting a polished spa, this isn’t it.
What it is though is a really unique Lithia spring soaking experience. The water feels amazing, the setting is peaceful, and there’s something kind of special about how unpretentious it is. It leans very “crunchy,” so if you’re into that vibe, you’ll probably love it.

Nice camping and developed hotsprings resort. The venue offers large tents for retreat space, dry and wet sauna, hot pool and large cool pool for public use and reasonable rates. The campgrounds accommodate RVs, tents and car camping although it is all close to the major N and S roads so highway noises. I appreciate the unique Oregon hippie vibes and clear recycling locations. I would recommend
