“My ignition key broke off while it was in the keyhole! And AAA said they didn’t have anyone to help me on the weekend.
But they said they would reimburse me if I found someone (yet to see about that).
I texted the proprietor and he gave me some tips for trying to start the car, anyway. I couldn’t do it, so I had my car towed to him. He and his assistant started work right away (how embarrassing, he was able to start it with the key nub where I had failed) and he had to remove the whole ignition cylinder and take it apart to get out the chunk of key. While I’m watching all this, fascinated, he tells me more than I’ve ever heard in my life about car keys and locks and stuff specific to Toyotas, even suggestions on how to keep this from happening again, which I’m in the process of following. Very knowledgable, skilled, and professional.
He even quickly popped the broken key nub out of my trunk lock that I’ve just been ignoring dealing with for months, and gave me a receipt for AAA. He’s got all the things he needs to do his work in his tidy shop. I was really impressed. Even made me a new key from the broken one and told me how to get one that would be like new (keys copied from keys become further and further from the original key, so never work quite as well).
He saved the day, as I had an event at the drive-in and needed my car.

“Posting with five stars just because I know a one-star won't get any views. This locksmith company is so shady. Do not use them. At least not if you have a car with expensive parts. These guys stole my ECM and the OBD2 plug and it's been over a month since they came to make me a key and took off with my parts off my car without permission. Left my dash torn apart. I'm baffled at how they can sleep at night and wake up every morning feeling ok with themselves. I'm a single mom who had to get help from a church!“
