I can’t say enough good things about VCA Eastside. I have had appointments at other vets (including other VCA locations) and the care here is just unmatched. I have three cats all with their unique health issues and personalities and Dr.Scott and the team has always been phenomenal with the level of care provided.
The follow up texts during the courses of treatment and soon after medical appointments just shows the level of care they possess. They are not the cheapest veterinarian office in the city, but I think you definitely get what you pay for in terms of level of care and service.
Additionally, I cannot express how helpful the VCA livechat is. It is hard to determine what is a pet emergency and what is not. The livechat can help you determine that! (No diagnosis or anything can take place through there). They are always super transparent with when it is an emergency and when you can wait for an appointment.
So grateful to have such an amazing veterinary care team for my kitties❤

As a first-time client, I couldn’t be happier with my experience at this veterinary hospital. I recently brought in my 7-week-old puppy, Luna, after finding the clinic through Google and reading the excellent reviews.
From the moment we walked through the door, everyone was welcoming, friendly, and professional. The staff made both Luna and me feel comfortable, and the veterinarian took the time to answer all of my questions thoroughly and provide valuable information about caring for a new puppy.
When it came time for Luna’s vaccinations, the team was incredibly gentle and caring. The process was so smooth that she barely seemed to notice what was happening. It was clear that the entire staff genuinely cares about their patients and treats them with kindness and compassion.
This was an outstanding first experience, and I’m confident I’ve found Luna’s new veterinarian. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone looking for exceptional care for their pets.

BEWARE!! If I could rate a minus 100 I would. An extremely disappointing and completely frustrating experience. Their lack of understanding and compassion was overwhelming. Will be glad to look for an alternative to this place.

I’m devastated to be writing this, even two years later, but I feel compelled to share my experience. After several visits and repeated attempts to get a proper diagnosis for my cat, we were only given pill after pill with no clear explanation of what was wrong. Despite our efforts and trust in this clinic, my beloved cat passed away just days later.
What makes this even harder to accept is that we were never given the option of an operation or any detailed treatment options that might have saved him. It felt like there was no sense of urgency or effort to truly understand what was happening to him.
This loss has been incredibly heartbreaking for our family, and even a year later, the pain of knowing that more could have been done is still fresh. We weren’t given the answers or care we deserved, and because of this, we lost a deeply cherished member of our household.
If you value thoroughness and compassion for your pets, I urge you to think carefully about where you seek care. We’ll never get our cat back, but I hope this helps others avoid the pain we’ve endured.6 years old cat

I am giving two stars only because I believe all of the staff here are kind and act in good faith.
I am giving two stars because I am very unhappy with the misdiagnosis of my 2-year-old cat. They told me she needed a cleaning and sent me on my way. No prescriptions.
I took my cat for a second opinion elsewhere as her symptoms did not make sense to me and I was not satisfied that a dental cleaning would get to the root cause of her issue. I am so glad I did. The vet who gave me a second opinion demonstrated that most of her teeth were exposed at the root, some of which were loose and on the verge of falling out, and many need to be EXTRACTED. This vet ordered additional testing, and prescribed a 21 day course of antibiotics and medication to help deal with the vicious infection in her mouth prior to surgery.
This is completely unacceptable and insufficient care. How this was missed I have no idea.

The service we got from Dr Vandermolen was well beyond our expectations He took plenty of time and care in gathering information, even more time in explaining his findings to us, and presented alternatives that other vets' offices did/would not My wife and I are lifelong customers at VCA Stoney Creek as long as he's around

I absolutely love both VCA locations in Hamilton. My puppy was experiencing severe vomiting and was unable to walk. thankfully, they had a spot available. Within 10 minutes of arriving, i was in the room and Doctor Scott did an amazing job at keeping my puppy calm and diagnosing the problem. The receptionists are always so nice and a pleasure to deal with. Not to mention this feels like the only vet where they’re actually looking out for your pets and not looking to run your pockets. I highly recommend VCA for any of your pets needs.

Great please to take your dog! Scott the Vet was brilliant , very kind man and honest person! Took a lot of care with him every time we went and also helped me get him over to the UK which was difficult but he was great ! All the other staff member as well who were so sweet with him.
