While the shop can be cluttered, the staff is helpful when approached, making it a popular destination for those who know what they're looking for. Visitors appreciate the good selection of plants and trees, as well as the helpful and knowledgeable staff. However, some customers find the prices to be quite high, and there are occasional concerns about plants being root bound or unsold for years, with no refunds offered. The centre's hours are limited, and prices are significantly higher than other garden centres, which might make it less ideal for buying in quantity. Despite this, Make It Green remains a place where some hard-to-find plants can be found, making it worth visiting for specific needs.
Really nice garden center with a great selection of plants. The staff were super helpful and made it easy to find exactly what we were looking for. I really appreciated the guidance and how friendly everyone was.
I've been buying my plants here for a couple of years. People need to understand that if you want your plant to look as good as it did in the store, you need to give it a level of care that's somewhat comparable to what it got before you bought it. It's also not this business' responsibility to eat the cost of the replacement policy of another business, per the stunning review by my local landscaper.
After reading the owner defend his store against the disingenuous, vindictive, negative comments I am happy to continue shopping here (if I had one wish it would be for extended hours on Friday nights, at least in the early weeks).

This is my number one nursery to go to since they are the only one I know of in the region that sells neonicotinoid-free plants. I don't want to kill bees and other pollinators by planting flowers that will harm them so that is a must for me. The staff are knowledgeable and the prices are at the high end but it is worth it. Also worth the drive from Ottawa. I have never had to replace a plant since they are of the highest quality. Other garden centres have given my ridiculous advice in the past (replace all your garden soil every year comes to mind) and don't even know about pollinating killing insecticides so I will choose Make it Green every time.
