Honestly so disappointed in my appointment today with Becky. I came in yesterday for a cut and a consult where I was told I would need to do a strand test since I have years of box dye on hair. She was running late initially and never ended up doing a strand test. The cut came out great but when I came back the next day for the colour that’s where everything went wrong. A chunk of my hair was broken off due to bleach damage and when I reached out to my stylist she said she knew and offered free treatments to fix it. I mentioned several times how long I’ve worked to get my hair healthy from the box dyes and I feel like my trust was betrayed when I was allowed to leave the salon with damaged hair.

I left very unhappy with how my hair turned out. I saw Izzy and after explaining what I wanted done she seemed to understand what I was asking for but as the appointment went on it seemed to go downhill. I told her I use to have red hair and I know it’s hard to get out of hair which is why I brought it up but she never told me what I was looking to do wasn’t going to happen. At the end of the appointment my “money pieces” were a very yellow colour and the rest of my hair was different shades some copper looking pieces and some lighter. I figured I would give it a couple days to see if the work that was done would grow on me but those couple of days I couldn’t look at myself in the mirror I felt so insecure. I ended up having to go to another salon to get it fixed. I paid almost $300 for this and after reaching out to the salon via email and instagram I never heard back from anyone to try and make it right. I will never go back here again

I came here a couple years ago to get blonde highlights. i walked out with brown hair for 450 dollars. i showed vanessa this picture and this is what i left with. she was a senior stylist. Horrible customer service aswell they were rude the minute i walked in.

It was my first time visiting this salon and I had a wash, cut, blow dry with Izzy. I was having surgery later in the day and she went above and braided my hair for me so it was out of the way. I’ll definitely be back!

Hair Envy did my hair for my engagement shoot, bridal shower and wedding. Overall their work was pretty and the staff are all very nice and personable. Unfortunately the morning of my wedding one stylist could not make it in because they were unwell (totally understandable, things happen) however it did set our morning behind quite a bit considering how large my wedding was. That being said, the team at Hair Envy was extremely accommodating and helpful to rectify the situation and I am truly grateful for that. While missing a stylist did create a time delay for the day, they still worked extremely hard and i truly appreciate the work that went into all of the bridesmaids, flower girls and mothers hair. All of the girls looked beautiful and I am very happy with the result. I was not 100% happy with my hair but it was still very pretty and everything about the day was perfect. Things happen, i just wish the morning of there was more communication. Their customer service before and after was excellent so I still want to give them a five star because they still did a great job given the circumstances. Thank you Hair Envy, I truly appreciate all of your hard work that day!

I booked Hair Envy for my September 2025 wedding and was beyond happy with the experience. The hair and makeup held up perfectly all day, and my bridesmaids, my mom, my mother-in-law, and I all felt so beautiful. Casey and Kaitlyn were incredibly professional, friendly, and talented. I can’t thank them enough!

⭐ 1-Star Review — Extremely Disappointed I had a very disappointing experience at Hair Envy Newmarket, specifically with stylist Venessa. I went in asking for face-framing highlights around my hairline (since I always wear my hair up) and a tone refresh on my existing highlights. Venessa assured me that everything I wanted was “no issue” and could be done with 12 foils. The results were nothing like what I asked for. I walked out with chunky, uneven front highlights that looked harsh and completely unflattering. I returned the next day for a fix, hoping they could blend or correct the front pieces and tone the rest properly. Even after the fix, I looked the same — the front piece was still just as chunky and poorly done. There was no improvement at all. On top of that, the pricing was extremely unclear. The service was supposed to be $152.55, and part of the 12-foil highlight package included a blow-dry. I told Venessa I didn’t want a blow-dry and asked if she could do a trim instead. She agreed, never mentioning any additional charge, but then I was billed $60 extra for the haircut. If she had been upfront about the cost, I could have made an informed decision. Overall, this experience left me unhappy with both the results and the lack of transparency. In my experience, they showed no skill in baby lights or proper face-framing highlights, and the communication about pricing was not clear at all. I would not recommend this salon — especially not this stylist.

Got my bridal hair and makeup done here this past weekend and it really had to hold up to the tests I put it through, because I spent the whole afternoon/evening crying of joy, then sweating my buns off on the dance floor. The HMU services held up and then some!! I felt fabulous all night and it was all worth every penny. Thank you so much to all four HMU girls for their amazing work :)
