Dr. Terry provided exceptional care for my dog, and I’m deeply grateful for her compassion and professionalism. From the start, she treated my pet with kindness and genuine concern. During my dog’s end-of-life journey, Dr. Terry showed remarkable empathy, ensuring comfort, dignity, and peace every step of the way. She took the time to explain the process clearly and supported me through an incredibly difficult moment with patience and understanding. Saying goodbye was heartbreaking, but her gentle approach made it as humane and comforting as possible. I highly recommend Dr. Terry to anyone seeking a truly caring and dedicated veterinarian.

Dr. Simmons has taken care of three of our family dogs over the past 30 years, and I couldn’t ask for a more trusted veterinarian. Both Dr. Simmons and Dr. Terry are kind, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable. They genuinely care about the animals and their well-being. They’ve supported me through everything from routine visits to more difficult times, always with empathy and honesty. I am very grateful for the care they’ve provided. Their dedication to those who cannot speak for themselves is truly admirable. Debbie was wonderful and always went the extra mile—she will always be missed.

Miserable experience. I brought in a 20 yr old cat who was vomiting clear liquid, had stopped eating.and was confused. I wanted her euthanized. Instead i was made to feel guilty and told that she wouldn't do that to her own cat and perhaps some meds would be an option.
You'd think I brought in a healthy one year old to be put down. I am an experienced cat owner who has spent years in animal rescue. I've seen the end of life many times and am the opinion that when it's your time, it's better to just go instead of being force fed meds that will keep you alive another month.
People now have the option to not suffer FFS!!
My usual vets office had closed and this was a decision I made to spare my senior cat some misery.
Never going back there again.

Heartland Veterinary Clinic earned one of the most upsetting experiences I’ve ever had as a pet owner. My dog had eaten a package of chewing gum containing xylitol — something that can be fatal if not treated immediately — we rushed her there urgently, terrified and desperate for help. What we got was indifference and delay. It took 15 minutes for a doctor to even appear, only for them to say they would not take her. My girlfriend was distraught, saying we’d pay anything to save our dog’s life. Only then did they agree — but not out of compassion. They said they could take her if we paid a non-client fee, an emergency fee, and several other charges. Once we agreed, they admitted they didn’t have the treatment she needed and suggested trying something that goes in her eye but “may not work.” That kind of uncertainty and lack of urgency was unacceptable when every minute mattered. We drove straight to Wellington North Animal Hospital instead, where they immediately took action, induced vomiting with hydrogen peroxide, and treated her with genuine care and urgency. If you care about your animals and their wellbeing, do not go to Heartland Veterinary Clinic. Their priorities seemed to be profits, not patients. In our experience, compassion only came after money was mentioned — and by then, we had lost faith in their professionalism entirely.

Dr. Simmons is so knowledgeable and caring. Over the years she's treated my 12yo German Shepherd, and my shy 17yo brown tabby. I couldn't recommend Heartland Pet Hospital more! Great staff.

I've been bringing my 12yo German Shepherd here for a few years now, and I'm glad I was able to find someone he is so comfortable with (our shy little 17yo cat didn't have too bad of a time either!) Dr. Simmons is so patient, caring, and very experienced. She's the reason my boy is still with us today! So thankful to her and all the lovely staff, shout out to Dr. Terry, and Florinda!

I have been a client for 30+ years and would not take my animals anywhere else! Dr Simmons is a very knowledgeable and compassionate vet and treats your fur babies as if they were hers! Dr Simmons is very friendly and puts you at ease from the start. She listens to all your concerns and answers your questions from her extensive knowledge of animal anatomy & behaviour. She always wants to do what is best for the animal and is upfront about what she recommends and costs of services. I would recommend Heartland Pet Hospital & Dr Simmons to anyone looking for a compassionate and transparent vet that has you & your fur babies best interest at heart!
