Horrible experience! Stay away from this company! We received a reasonable quote after a video call, so we chose their service. However, after taking our furniture, they provided an invoice that was significantly higher than the initial quote!

We were promised an international move completed within two weeks, but on the delivery date, we realized they sent us the wrong shipment! Their communication afterward was terrible. Our furniture was finally delivered 17 days late, and many items, including our TV and bikes, were damaged. Our dining chairs arrived scuffed. They didn’t compensate us for any of these!

This company charged us nearly twice the initial quote, missed our delivery date by 17 days, damaged our belongings, and failed to compensate us at all. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Dealing with them was a Nightmare and the WORST service I’ve ever experienced!

    Very responsive and professional.
I moved to Dallas. The movers were great, they were very helpful. Things were loaded properly and they all arrived safely. Thumbs up guys. Keep up the good work.

I gotta give a shout-out to Happy Ending Movers for making my move from Kitchener, Ontario, to Dallas, TX, a total breeze! Seriously, these folks know how to make moving day way less stressful.

The team was on point with packing and hauling all my stuff, and they did it with a smile. My things made it to Dallas without a scratch, and I couldn't be happier. Plus, the communication was spot-on throughout the whole process, so I alwys knew what was going on.

Our experience was very similar to the other poor reviews here. The company seems affordable, responsive and kind when initially booking. In the end they charged us double what was estimated, were late on their delivery timing, broke our furniture, and have been INSANELY rude to deal with. It has been over a 1.5 months and we are still chasing them for a claim. I really urge prospective customers to stay away from HEM, as I wish I had listened to the negative reviews before dealing with this dishonest and unprofessional company.

EDIT: I am editing to add to my review as I really hate when companies try and respond and blame the customer. The problem we have had with HEM, and that others clearly have also had, is that they will act one way when trying to book you and then shift once they actually have you locked in, and now apparently shift again in a public forum. Do not fall for it. The other negative reviews are all extremely similar to our experience so it is clear this is a systemic issue of deceitful practices, and not as a result of any of the attempted justifications HEM is trying to give. It is also insane they are trying to say they're willing to work with me for a resolution on our claim, as they don't answer the phone or respond to emails with any actual substance other than "your claim is under review", another clear tactic of trying to frustrate you so much you give up.

Poor office staff- took them the longest time to establish contact. Once done, video walk thru the house to see the shipment articles and quotes was completed. Moving staff is decent and does a good job.

However, their quotes are useless- be prepared to pay twice than quoted. They will “loose” all records of ever making a fixed priced quote at the billing time.

Terrible experience! My $1785 estimate ballooned into over twice that amount because one guy got sick two hours into it. We waited 7 1/2 hours for a replacement. They decided to send 2 new guys who didn’t finish loading until 11:30 pm, with the intention of delivering my goods the next day. Very sad that someone was ill, but that is not my problem - it is the cost of doing business. On top of that, I don’t think the replacements had ever done this kind of work before. They turned boxes on their ends to fit them with no regard for contents and stacked heavy boxes over light ones, crushing them. I had to instruct them myself how to stand an armoire upright when there was a low ceiling - they said it wouldn’t fit. And to top it off, the body odor was brain numbing. Don’t let the cutesy name fool you. Very unprofessional, offering me a mere $250 compensation - after I had previously been told my reduction would amount to $452.68 (still 73% over the estimate.)! Maybe they under-quote just to get the business.

I moved from Mississauga to Calgary and I am yet to get my items as I was promised I'd get them by Aug 27th. I won't put all my details here as yet because I am still waiting in my delivery. I am only sorry I did not read these reviews before using this company. My situation is very much similar to some of the comments and as such it can't be mere coincidence of their actions.

I was video called and then given an estimate of $2,900. After the movers came, the next day I was sent a scale ticket and my estimate is $5,700. No one said anything to me prior about scaling. Plus, the Consumer Protection Act s10 and s11 speaks to estimates not exceeding 10% for non-binding estimates and this covers moves within Ontario, from Ontario and into Ontario. I was charged $150 they say to rent a truck cause they have no truck. On the day of the move it was their truck that came. I was given 5 different delivery dates.

They blame the strike of railway workers, but yet still I had to let them know if they had sent off my items prior to the strike, which was what should have happened my date would not need to be changed 4 more times.

I have written to them and waiting to hear and see what the end result will be. For now because of them my family has incur expenses we did not need to and have to be living in conditions we are not use to.

I will be back with an update and I do hope there will be an amicable resolve as this is only a piece of the situation.

Beware of Deceptive Practices and Poor Service – A Nightmare Experience

I wish I had paid more attention to the negative reviews before hiring Happy Ending Movers. My family’s experience with this company has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I feel compelled to share our story to prevent others from falling into the same trap.

We entered into a contract with Happy Ending Movers on March 26th, 2024, for a move scheduled in August 2024. We were assured that our household items would be delivered to Calgary, Alberta, within 5-7 business days. This timeline was crucial as it aligned with our relocation plans. The company also estimated that our shipment would not exceed 2,800 lbs, based on an inspection by their staff. This was a major factor in our decision to choose Happy Ending Movers over other vendors.

However, from the moment they took possession of our belongings, everything went downhill. Our car, which we dropped off in Toronto on August 1st, was not delivered until August 16th—far beyond the promised timeframe. To make matters worse, it was trucked down to Calgary in another person’s name, forcing us to prove our ownership to Hansen Truckers before the car was released. This level of negligence is completely unacceptable.

Our household items, picked up on August 5th, did not arrive until August 24th, again far exceeding the 5-7 business day promise. We were initially informed that our shipment would be transported by rail, but it was ultimately delivered by road. This caused further delays and left us stranded in Calgary with two young children (ages 10 and 7) without any of our essential belongings. We had to incur additional expenses, including CAD 960 for 10 nights at an Airbnb and CAD 349.60 for a rental car, all because of their failure to deliver on time.

When our shipment finally arrived, the problems continued. The weight of our shipment was grossly inflated from the 2,800 lbs estimated to 5240 lbs, bringing the total to a suspiciously inflated amount. We were sent CAT Scale tickets dated March 28th and August 5th, 2024, that we could not substantiate as belonging to our shipment. Adding to the confusion, during delivery, there was a mix-up with another customer’s shipment, and we had to manually identify our load in the truck. The weight discrepancies and false documentation raise serious concerns about the integrity of their entire operation.

Several items were significantly damaged, including our couch, TV stand, IKEA dresser, cupboard, and both of our children’s beds. We also discovered that two bags of clothes, containing our kids’ winter shoes, gloves, jackets, and school items, were missing. The stress and anxiety caused by these issues have been overwhelming for our family, especially our young children, who have struggled to adjust to this chaotic situation.

To add insult to injury, the final amount charged to our card was CAD 6,931.71, significantly higher than the CAD 4,567.50 we initially authorized. These additional charges were made without our explicit consent or a review of the contract, which is both unethical and fraudulent.

Throughout this ordeal, communication with Happy Ending Movers has been abysmal. Calls were frequently routed to voicemail, and we had to rely on friends and relatives to get any response. The lack of accountability and customer service is shocking.

In summary, Happy Ending Movers has shown a complete disregard for professionalism, transparency, and customer care. Their deceptive practices, including bait-and-switch tactics, weight discrepancies, false CAT Scale documentation, and unauthorized charges, are appalling. I strongly advise anyone considering using this company to look elsewhere. Save yourself the stress, financial burden, and emotional toll that we have endured. There are far better moving companies out there—do not make the same mistake we did.

Charged me 60% more than the initial estimate.

One mover spent a good portion of the day on his phone, the pace of his move was frusterating (takes you 5-10 minutes to move a small box out of the house? Was on his phone again). And somehow they were behind schedule and pass the costs on to the customer. They also had to bring in 2 other movers to help with the move as they were so behind (again pass the costs to the customer).

Damages to the home occurred and walls with black marks from their hands all over it.

Only 2 small wardrobe boxes to move a 3 bedroom townhome? Had to go back and forth to move clothing on my expense.

They use an old TV box to move the TV, not damaged thankfully but concerning for future moves

Would have loved to express these concerns with the company but they haven't returned my emails/calls over the past week.

Should have gone with someone else, avoid. Note the 5 star reviews are from user with low number of reviews on Google, bots are being used to leave 5 star reviews

I’ll try my best to be pragmatic in my review.
Ok, so our ordeal with these guys started on the day of the move.
We called them a couple of months ahead based on a reference shared by a friend and were told they would do a video call to do a thorough analysis of our existing home & give us a realistic quote. None of that happened, the lady that came on the phone asked us a few questions / number of rooms, etc. and shared a quote (aka, estimate) for $2k for approx. 8 hours with a 3 men crew. This was clearly a poor job on their part in not properly assessing the size of the move and walking us through with the cost breakdown and how this whole thing works properly. (Huge gap, wait till the end for the real $$).
The crew arrived an hour late on moving date but did call us to notify which was decent. I gave the crew a thorough walkthrough of the home before they started loading and we boxed everything and kept them ready. A few hours into the move process, one of the guys called their office for extra help. 2 more people with another truck arrived later in the afternoon as their other moving job got cancelled. We were told at that time that we wouldn’t need another truck. One of the guys from the first crew that came in, was a power lifter and was really moving things fast, had a great positive attitude and was really swift. They deliberately switched him up with another guy that came in later and this guy would poke rhe crew unnecessarily and wouldn’t add much value during the move and slow things down. This resulted in slowing down the move process and at the end of it while we waited for them to drive the truck to our new home, we were told that the truck would be diverted to their secure parking yard and they would resume the move and unloading the next day. We understand that the crew may have been exhausted and it may not have been safe to unload in the dark but this could have been communicated to us earlier that such a possibility exists so we would have been better prepared.
It clearly appeared as if these guys were hell bent upon making extra $$ by delaying tactics, holding our things at ransome and so forth. Midway through the unloading process their crew wouldn’t complete the job unless we signed off on the credit card authorisation or payment as though we would run away or deny paying them later? Anyhow they eventually unloaded everything and ended us charging almost double what they estimated - you heard it right - we ended up paying almost $4k for the move, with no bed to sleep the previous night, not knowing if our things would arrive next day and dealing with them over the phone was a different level of nightmare altogether. I echo what Manvinder (another review) shared previously and would ask that everyone be wary of these guys and think twice before hiring them. I know they may hire a digital marketer to post more fake reviews to push this down but I will remember to come back each time and post another similar review to ensure everyone gets to know their true intent. They should change their name to Very sad, depressing and horrible nightmare movers rather than happy ending movers - total mislead!! I do want to commend their crew (Ravi, Roman, Sufi the power lifter) for their hard work and work ethics except that one guy (Barish) - I suspect he’s the mole behind all these tactics that gets planted by them to deliberately slow things down and loot many gullible people.
