“I had a short circuit in basement pot lights. I thought it was the switch and since I saw a spark from there but replacing that did not work. Called Jafar to trouble shoot the problem and I was glad I did because he found the short in one of the pot lights and revealed that another was close to failing. He came back 2 days later and replaced all my pot lights with new LED pot lights. The old ones had been problematic for a while so happy to have the new energy efficient lights. “

Our rooftop AC unit had completely stopped cooling due to an electrical fault. “We couldn’t be happier with the work done by Effective Wiring. In advance of receiving our new electric vehicle, I sought quotes from six companies to instal an outlet for our charger. I contacted the one recommended by our car dealership, as well as the best-reviewed and the most established outfits in our area: two gave me quotes over the phone, sight unseen; two asked for photos of our electrical panel, the spot in the garage and the path to it; and only two actually showed up to give me an estimate. Effective Wiring was one of the last group. They came the day after I called them, gave me a written quote on the spot, waited on me for a month before I accepted it and then waited another month until I scheduled the job. They then came the exact day and just about the exact time I requested, did the work quickly and neatly, were very nice to deal with and even helped me out with a dryer outlet I needed rotated in our laundry room. The price was exactly as quoted with no surprises.
They were very upfront about what the job required, but also presented options for me to consider. We wound up deciding to instal a circuit slightly larger than we needed (50 amp instead of just 40,) and to use a higher (lower?) gauge wiring (six-gauge) to future-proof the job and allow us to instal a higher amp circuit or even to hardwire a charger later if we ever decide to. Despite those upgrades, Effective Wiring’s price was many hundreds of dollars below the next-lowest estimate we got from anyone (about 35-40% less.)
As a final note, the Electrical Safety Authority passed the job and sent us our Certificate of Acceptance without a site visit, based on photos of the job. Contractor friends of mine tell me that speaks very well of the electrician’s reputation for solid work.
Do NOT hesitate to hire Effective Wiring. They do excellent work at a great price.“
