“We were travelling around Ontario camping and heard about Happy Tails in Muskoka so decided we would bring our dog there while we were camping nearby.
Her stay was amazing and besides the place being gorgeous for dogs to roam around, ours definitely had an amazing time there. She tired herself out so much that she slept the entire rest of the day after we picked her up.
We can't wait until the next time we pass through Muskoka and can leave her there for a few days to really enjoy the resort to its fullest.
I have read many of these reviews including the negative ones and thought I would give a full picture of my perceptions:
The place itself is beautiful. For dogs that like to be outdoors (like mine), they are free to roam the fields, forest, pond, everywhere. That was the most exciting part.
The owner of course is busy with all sorts of duties, so she is frank and to the point. Drop your pet off or pick them up and be on your way, very understandable. When we arrived there was no one in the main office, but someone quickly walked by and went to get Lisa, so we only waited a couple of minutes. Same for pickup, very efficient.
In terms of keeping an eye on the animals, I can't speak for this, as they have different levels of care for different animals. My dog I asked to just be in the wild and she is great playing with other dogs of any size, so I had no worries. With this many animals it would be hard to keep them supervised all the time. If I needed to offer any critical advise it would possibly be to make sure there's enough staff to properly care for the animals needing VIP or other treatment, but for our needs everything was absolutely wonderful and we are definitely going back on our next adventure out to Muskoka.“
