My Schlage front door latch mechanism broke and all I could get at the large hardware stores was a complete new latch, handle etc. mechanism. Couldn't match the colour of the deadbolt so I had to buy a bigger set which included the deadbolt. Over $100 at that point. Went to Hec's and I was able to get just the latch for $20, and I installed it myself in a few minutes. Their staff are great too. I didn't know the correct terminology for any part of the assembly but he politely and patiently heard me out and found the right part to order in just a minute. It is fantastic to have these specialty hardware professionals in town.
