I've been coming to Dex Auto for several years. I find them 100% trustworthy. Yes, from time to time, there've been slip-ups but Dex has always been straight upfront about it and always made it right. Two main reasons why I go exclusively to Dex Auto: #1: First car I bought was taken out by a dump truck. Tow truck on the scene took it to another auto business. I was informed that I had a ruptured fuel tank, possible broken fuel line, and, in short, my car was dangerous and would cost $3800 to certify as roadsafe. it was a 1999 Toyota Corolla! I notified Dex to cancel an upcoming inspection. He talked me through a comprehensive walk-around, then told me to drive it to his shop. At his shop, he hopped in, drove it around, then came back and said "put some bondo on that gash in the door and fix the broken window. you're fine." total cost: $155 for supplies at Canadian Tire (Dex refers bodywork and advised me the cost wouldn't be worth the hassle of a professional job). I drove that car for two years until it was completely obliterated by a T-bone from a Lexus. #2: i won a complimentary oil change at another business ("grand opening" thing). i went there, and the guy comes out to show me a totally fried brake pad. he informed me my brakes were in dangerous condition. i said "that's from my car?" he said "yes". i said "green toyota corolla? the one that's sitting on the ground over there? what did you do: hoist my car, take the brakes off, then put the wheels back on and took it off the hoist? are you telling me my car is sitting there with no brakes?" six months later, the business was gone - it's now a Meineke or Midas or something like that. Compare that to Dex being in business for many years at the same location! nutshell: Dex is a straight shooter with excellent rates and is always up front and honest. If he told me my car needed to be rolled in horse manure and dipped in diamond dust, my only question would be does the horse manure have to be certified organic and can i get away with industrial grade diamond?
