It was raining and the algae were blooming super fast 1 week right before my family visited for the labor day weekend. The pool was green and I couldn’t see the bottom of the pool! The kids were looking forward to jump in the pool, of course, and I wouldn’t let them in if it’s not safe! I put algaecide in which normally works but this time it wasn’t. I call my pool doctor, Steven, right away! He listened to my problem patiently and suggested shocking it then follow with algaecide the next day. Went in to see if have filter for my hot tub. Didn't buy it there. Although he was busy, he looked it up on line & txt'd info. Didn't spend a dime there but will definitely go back when ready to upgrade.
