I hate giving low reviews unless someone is rude/poor service/I get ripped off (NONE of which was the case here, everyone was incredibly nice), but I booked here based on reviews, and either all of these people had a different massage therapist than me, or they don’t know what deep tissue is. I did not want people to end up in the same position as me thinking they’d get a good deep tissue here.
The depth of the massage was about what I would use to pet my dog, even after I asked her to go deeper. In addition, I told her I needed focus on my left shoulder/neck/trap and had to tell her again at the end that she still hadn’t addressed it. I also told her I needed focus on my right paraspinals/glutes. She saved the paraspinals for last and only spent ~10 minutes (of a 90 minute massage) there. She didn’t touch the glutes at all. And when she did quads, she only went about 2/3 the way up the quads. Glutes/quads/hip flexors are a big focus area for people on their feet all day; if you can’t touch them, you shouldn’t be a massage therapist.
In short, deep tissue was barely standard pressure, and she did not listen to me at all about where I needed focus or when I asked her to massage with deeper pressure.
If you want a real deep tissue massage, I would not recommend this spa. I actually ended up going to a different spa 2 days later for another deep tissue massage because my time here was a waste of time and money

I have been massaging weekly at Center Sanctum for years. My experience has always been professional. I have chronic health problems and their services have become an important part of my treatment. Matt it's my current massage therapist. He provides a massage specifically tailored to your needs. If you like firm pressure, he is your man! Thanks Matt for all tnr great massages!
