For years I did my own taxes first using paper forms, then using commercially available tax software. It was doable but honestly was a pain at times. In those years of doing my own taxes I was also audited twice, once by the IRS and once by the city I lived in. Going through an audit is no fun, especially if you don't have a tax professional going through it with you. Almost twenty years ago I had a difficult tax year requiring a somewhat more complicated return. I didn't feel comfortable tackling the filing myself so I asked around for recommendations for a tax professional. One name that kept popping up in these recommendations was Brad Hennebert. At that time Brad was running his business out of a small (very small) office in New Albany Ohio. I took my tax documents to Brad and in short order he had my return filed and assured me that should any problems arise he would stand behind his work and deal with the IRS on my behalf. I have been a client and friend of Brad's ever since. I have watched Brad business grow over the years, moving to successively larger offices and adding staff over the years. Often times when businesses grow the lose the personal touches that make them stand out. This has never been the case with Brad's business, He still shows he cares about not only me the client, but also me the person. He always asks about my family and knows my wife and children by name. This level of care also shows itself the those he chooses to employ. The first thing you notice when you meet Brad is that he is a people person. In choosing his staff it becomes obvious that he chooses to employ folks not only for their accounting skills but also for their people skills. People can make or break any business and Brad has clearly chosen his staff wisely. I would have absolutely no reservations recommending Premier Tax CPAs to a friend or family member.
